Publisher's Description

PDF2Word software enables you to export the text, images and other contents from a pdf document into a word document so you can reuse your PDF content. It will preserve text, layout and bitmap images in the generated word document. It is a standalone program and does not require Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, or even Acrobat Reader.

It is an exaggeration to say that this product preserves "layout." It can partially preserve layout, but usually uses absolute-positioned frames to do so. This means your text isn't easily edited in Word without screwing up word wrap, margins, page breaks, etc.

Admittedly, many competing PDF-to-Word converters pull the same trick with either frames objects or textbox objects when you configure them to preserve "exact" layout. In fact, some competing products like e-PDF Document Converter are based on code from VeryPDF, the maker of PDF2Word.

However, there are others like BCL's ALLPDF Converter, ScanSoft's PDF Converter, and Solid Converter PDF which do a much better job of preserving layout without resorting to tricks which hinder editing. These are priced in the same range as PDF2Word, so it's hard to recommend PDF2Word if layout and editability are key requirements for you, as they were for me.
