Best video player ever, no contest, the sheer number of options is staggering. Everything you could possibly want in a video player is there, and then some.

The best video player on any platform. Insane amount of customization, built-in decoders for pretty much everything. The 64 bit version works flawlessly, just make sure you let it download the two codecs it needs once the installation is complete. Top notch piece of software !

Best player, does everything.

In regards to x64, that only gets released with stable versions. This version is a beta.

The only thing I can say that isn't glowing would be that the default settings for image quality could use some adjusting when compared to some others. But that's it and I really am nitpicking because this is a great player that hasn't failed me in anyway yet, plays everything and is stable

@Zoroaster

Fair enough, if that's what you say happened to you I'll take your word for it. I have been using PotPlayer for a couple years but I always use a portable version. That might be a reason for our different experiences.

@Zoroaster

Proof? That's rhetorical because there is none. It doesn't even "phone home" by default, which most software does, when checking for updates. Updates, not surveillance. Uninformed statements are exactly what lends doubt to real things such as global warming because ill-informed zealots try to blame it for everything which in turn hurts the truth behind it. Your review is the equivalent of just that

My review of this is just a few down below so I wont repeat myself. To be honest, I rarely notice any changes with the updates in spite of the changelog because it always just works so well for me

Phones home, follows each and every video watched by the user.
100% craps. Great for exhibitionists.

EDIT : answer to Blaxima (above)
You'll have to take my word, even if I could be mistaking.
I am referring to a past version (Daum PotPlayer 1.5.34023), and I have no more details. Phoned home on every launch to servers in the beautiful city of Seoul:
tiara.daum.net & get.daum.net
I should have mentioned the version.

Since this is developed by the same guy who created the once excellent KMPlayer, you can think of this as it's evolution.

PotPlayer has all the things that for me are important in a video player; it plays everything and does it with excellent image quality; it's also fairly light on resources; has lot's of great features and great subtitle rendering

The average user might get dizzy looking at all the menu options offered and seeing how many file extensions this program supports but the bottom line is the program is a first rate media player.

Potplayer is awesome...

And as for the guy who rated it 2/5 because his Win2k machine had problems and because he was worried about bloatware: You can use Potplayer by running PotPlayerMini64.exe and no other programs, just download the zip.

Been using an old version of KMP for years, but thought I'd try PotPlayer after reading of the "bloat/adware" problems reported about newer versions of KMP. PotPlayer prompted me to install updated DirectX drivers, but the linked Microsoft download wouldn't install on my Win2K. PotPlayer started OK, but cautioned me it couldn't find ??? to provide audio and video. Fortunately I had installed it Using TotalUninstall so I was able to remove all traces of it. I'm sticking with my reliable KMP v2.9.3.1413.

Audio quality is good. Equalizer has a sufficient number of bands with good dB range. But it cuts off every song about two seconds before the end, which is really annoying. More disturbing, when it reached the end of my playlist, it tried to shut down my computer! i will be removing it until the bugs are worked out.

Love it. Ever since I found out GomPlayer spies on you, I switched to KMplayer, found it dead, and moved to PotPlayer. Have no looked back.
