I've used Power Mixer for years. It's great to have one control (ctrl + mousewheel) for volume in every program. The author is very helpful and has given me very personal help in years past. Give it a try. It's one of those utilities that you'll come to rely upon.

Have just installed the program and been using it for about an hour. It works just fine! After fine-tuning all the settings, though settings like color themes seem unnecessary to me, it integrates perfectly into Windows. The OSD looks great and works easy. And the program has probably a lot features real audiophiles will appriciate. 5 stars for the software itself! But I give it 4 for the price you have to pay after 21 days... I haven't made up my mind whether it's worth it... Still a new essential program on my desktop for the next 21 days!

Another great release!
Some of you might not find a need for this. But, if you are like me, and use your pc as a recording studio, constantly changing volume levels for what you are doing, then this will save you sooo much time, and you will wonder how you lived w/out it.

Check on their website, they might still be intersted in testers. I know I visited their site not too long ago and they were still looking.. if you e-mail them they MIGHT give you a free registration code. They did me, I think I was one of the first testers.. about 2 years ago and the code is still good. They are REALLY GREAT PEOPLE, anytime you e-mail them, about problems, suggestions, or anything they get right back to you. When you register is when it is really the best. cause you can make YOUR OWN HOTKEY configs, like I have one for recording... for when I'm ready to lay down a track, I have one for MIXING, I have one for when I'm making a beat with the headphones. If you do these sortof things, then you know how much you have to tweak to get it to sound right. All you have to do is save it as a preset and give it a hotkey, and with the press of 1 button go from RECORDING to MIXING.. or whatever you want.
Like I said, if you REALLY want to TEST the software, you might want to e-mail them and tell them if they need people that you would be interested.

its ok ..but not $18 ok .. i tried it and not to impressed with it..

there are freeware that does the same or close enough ..

as for me about all i use is onscreen display with volume control asinged to keys - easyOSD is good enough for that.

I did try it out before write a review and gave a honest opinion.

Gotrek,
Sup man.. I'm not a developer, I just really do love this program. Cause I do allot of stuff on my computer that is audio related, I make rap music and listen to music, watch dvd's and stuff.. but the main thing I do that I like the program so much is makeing rap music.. cause before I always had trouble getting the music to sound alike, I mean.. one song the beat would be louder than my voice, and then I might have gotten it perfect... then switch it to watch a dvd or something and then try to set it back again the way I had it before and then my voice would be louder than the music or something..
I have been a beta tester for awhile now, I think before it was even 1.0 not sure though.. and to be honest, the makers who make this program are just so awesome, I mean.. if you e-mail them and tell them you liked something the way it was in a previous release, the next beta it will be back to the way it was, or if you have any ideas or whatever. They just really care what you think about it, and you just don't find that much anymore.. the program REALLY helps me out for what I do, and honestly I think that it should be a part of windows or something. The basic user might not see why I think it is so great, but I think that basic users can benefit from it as well.
But, it is just my opinion, and I'm not just saying this cause I'm a beta tester.. it just makes what I do on my pc so much easier, thats all. And I just wanted to let others who might not know what it is, or what it can do know so they can at least try it.

EDIT-
I just went back and read my post that you were replying to... and it does kinda sound like a cheesy add or something.. LOL but I really do stand by what I said.. it is just great to be able to press one key and go from settings for listeing to music, and whenever I feel the urge to spit a freestyle or something just hit a key and I'm ready to record. It really is a must have for me now, it has spoiled me :)

This is one of the GREATEST programs that I have EVER used. I have been using it now for about the last 5 releases or something like that. Trust me, if you are like me, and do allot of recording, and listening to music, watching movies, etc.. on your pc, this is FOR YOU!! Seriously, if you make music on your pc, do you get tired of constantly messing w/ the levels to make it sound right? One song will have louder vocals than the other, or vice versa? NO MORE, you can make PRESETS, and w/ a touch of a button it changes the levels right before your eyes.

They were looking for beta testers, and would provide them w/ free registration.. you might want to try the program out and e-mail the maker to see if they need more beta testers.
Try it out, if you do allot of things on your computer that requires constant adjusting from one thing to the next, after using PowerMixer you won't be able to live without it. The previous poster tre2004 was 100% right on the money!

This is one of THE best programs that I have used in awhile. It helps me out in sooo many ways. I seriously believe that this should come bundled w/ windows. Like I have a Media Center Pc, this program is PERFECT if you watch movies, edit music, record music, etc... Like for instance, it was sooo annoying trying to change my settings from watching a dvd, to setting it up where I could record raps that I make. I could never get it to sound the same, but w/ this program, find what sounds good, set a hotkey for it, and when your done watching a dvd press F1 for example to change to your recording settings and that is it.. DONE
I started using this about 4 releases ago, and w/ every release it's getting better. And the makers are good people, I e-mailed them the release before last about something they changed that I thought was better before, they got back to me and said "DONE, it will go back to the other way" You just don't find that often. They really care about what you think about the program, and are interested in what you have to say. I wish them ALL THE LUCK in the world. ANd I dont' think they are goin to need it, cause this is an awesome piece of software. Try it, You'll love it.
