Pros: Very, very, much improved. I tried an earlier version 18 months ago and was unimpressed and uninstalled it. I'm now using ver. 6.31.04 and it is excellent.
It's now available in free and pro versions. I'm using the free version with UK DVB via a Compro Videomate TV card. Would not be easy to use by people with only basic computer skills but for competent users this might just be the best free DVB software out there at the moment.

Cons: Works extremely well only with Pinnacle PCTV 310e.

Bottom Line: Very good free tool for DVB enthusiasts.

It used to be one of the best if not the best program for watching digital TV. Not anymore.
1. it was written about problematic support for Twinhan cards. It is not limited to this company only, ProgDVB has severe problems with many tuners, esp. USB tuners
2. DVB-T http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVB-T support is poor, almost nonexistent.
3. the freeware status of the application is illusory since many countries utlilize MPEG-4 codec (both DVB-S and DVB-T) which in NOT supported in the freeware version of the program.It is supported in the paid version. The freeware version supports obsolete MPEG-2 only.

If you want to watch H.264 DVB-T better use Mirillis Splash Player Lite http://www.mirillis.com/splash.html which supports both H.264 and DVB-T (will support American ATSC-T soon) out of the box.

This is quite literally the only program seems to recognize the digital side of my hybrid AVerTV ExpressCard tuner that I got with a Dell laptop purchase. I don't know what exactly they're doing that nobody else can seem to achieve. When this program works properly it simply has no peer, however it does seem to crash on occasion. Thankfully no blue screen, the program just vaporizes. Once stability is increased a bit, this will be an easy 5 star.

- Website need to improve. so will be more informative.
- It need to support recording to various formats, such as MPEG 2 and also DIVX.
- It is better also if support downloading data/ files too.

I use this program to view DVB-T on my nova-T usb2.
The v4.62 works flawlessly. I give it a 4 because the newer versions have annoying bugs.

much better, but still needs work, especialy in the graph-codec area. prodvb is a good standby app, but far from being my everyday tv watching program. its free and and causes no problems with my pc, so i gave it a 3, but anything higher is far out of reach. for those wanting a more polished app, i would recomend trying mytheatre.

First, ProgDVB is totally FREE unlike other programs which are NOT.

It's a great software, always updated and has a huge number of plugins and works perfectly.

warning, this is very buggy software.
if u are new to dvb, avoid this and try mytheatre instead.
v4.6+ of progdvb does not remember diseqc settings on exit. no high def support. very poor tvguide. no skins.
v4.5 and below works okay.
gave it 2 out 5, but its not really worth installing.
