This product seems like a second job for its developer, but still this is the fastest (amazing speeds even on slowest of connections) remote admin program I've ever seen. VNC doesn't even come close, unfortunately.

Is Radmin the fastest remoting application on the market? YES.
Is the interface and complimentary features good? NO.
So if speed is all that matters to you (and for me it does), then go with Radmin. If speed is not an issue (eg: both server and client got fast enough lines), I would go with RealVNC. It has good speed, great interface, flexibility and features. And it even features both a x64 server and client.
But still, Radmin's speed is impressive. I wasn't able to go back to RealVNC after trying Radmin.

i tried symantec pcanywhere and it sucked for so many reasons.
mainly it's a resource hog and it froze all the time!
i searched and searched and downloaded demo after demo and RADMIN was such a relief because it was the best on all fronts by far! please save yourself the trouble and TRY RADMIN first I promise you will like it the best.
I feel so strongly that I took the time to write this. I am not affiliated with radmin or any software company in any way. Just try it seriously!

Fastest remoting application on the market. Not as usable as RealVNC though. So I'd say if you want speed - choose Radmin, if you want convinience and ease of use - RealVNC.

It's aplain lie that vnc-anything woudl be faster than radmin. radmin is the fastest I've seen and tried, ever, period. It is expensive though and the license conditions are plain crap, for a home user with say 2 or 3 computers it's not worth the money by far. Apart from this, it's great!
EMkaEL reviewed v3.2 on Apr 25, 2008
yes, I've tried all the VNC clones.. they ALL suck!
Radmin is the best on EVERY level!
pluto2se reviewed v3.1 on Apr 11, 2008
The best when it comes to speed and cpu use, period.
Some minor improvements could be put into the program, also the coders where abit sloppy here and there in my point of view. Finally, the reason for the 4: it's WAY TO FRIGGIN EXPENSIVE! 49$ itself is a hefty price, but say you have a home network like me with 3 or 4 computers which you would like to be able to use remotely. You'll end up at enormous sums due to their crappy licensing methods. Also there is no working crack for 3.x yet which is surprising, are the crackers getting lazy? It would be nothing but fair that a crack was made when a company sucks this kind of money out of non-profit/home users.

Easily the best. Extremely stable. The smooth remote refresh is something to behold. Top notch software. Easily worth the $$.
greeblesnort reviewed v3.1 on Nov 5, 2007
Odd that after so many years of waiting for v3, we get 3.x in less than a year...
Anyway, radmin is a good tool, superior to VNC and possibly to Dameware (also good but commercial). The only thing really even close to it is the FreeNX stuff, which has far fewer features.

The programs rating shouldn't be affected with the fact that it costs money. This program is the best remote control program ever written. It beats anything I've ever tried. The performance is superb.
It's an easy install, it's a fairly size download (version 2.x was smaller), it's service based and it simply runs great.
The only performance equal is Terminal Services in Windows which out of the box doesn't support logging on to existing sessions, though it's doable, it's complicated.
I use VNC freeware edition though because I also use Linux but in a Windows only enviroment, this software is the best.

When there are a few hundred freeware and nearly freeware apps out there, I can't see the need to a: tout your own goods by giving reviews.
b: wonder why someone would actually buy something like this when there is VNC, RDC. PCAnywhere, Goto mypc, all of which are either free, or cheaper.
Boreth reviewed v3.1 on Nov 3, 2007
Radmin:
Pro:
fast and reliable, unlimited clients
Con:
$49 buys you 1(one) server license that is only valid for the hardware that it's first installed on, any change to that PC (new harddrive, new videoboard or even an OS reinstall ) requires you to buy a new license. So don't buy if you plan to upgrade in the near future.
I moved to Remote Control Pro,just as fast and a lot cheaper ($15 per server, 2 minimum) plus it couldn't care less what you change in your hardware as long as you don't exceed the number of servers in your license.

Radmin 3 has got to be the best remote control software on the market. It has the fastest screen transfers I've seen and is very portable and easy to use.
I have 2 licenses, at $49 each, I think it's well worth it.
tbresson reviewed v3.01 on Jul 9, 2007
This software is the best remote software of them all. I agree terminal services in Windows is good but taking over an existing session is not hasslefree. And the performance on radmin compared to any other remote software is simply superb.
I'd like to see a linux port of this :)

Boreth reviewed v3.0 on Mar 29, 2007
Radmin 3 works OK most of the time, BUT a reinstall, even within a few days of purchase (HDD crash), requires you to buy a new licence at $50. Support is non-excistant, sales and or support only reply to emails before you buy the licence. A negative rating would be better.

OMG!!!!! I don't believe it !!!!
They FINALLY released version 3 of Radmin ....
One of this days I'll wake up and "Duke Nukem Forever" will be out too (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duke_Nukem_Forever) .... Nah, that'd be too much ... :D
But, seriously, this baby has been announced for so long that I never thought I would see it out. I've never seen a piece of software be so late (except Duke Nukem Forever, that is ..)
Don't believe me? How about if I quoted a post from their own support forum?
Some poor and desperate guy by the name of Steven writes: "i'm just waiting about 2 years for the new version 3.0 of radmin ...
... i'm fed up ... i'll change to another program!!!!!
i hope there are many other people who thinks like me ... "
Now those are the words of someone who is truly beyond hope of ever seeing an upgrade to the software, right?
But wait, there's more!!!!
How about if I told you that our poor Steven wrote that hopeless post IN JULY 2003 ?!?!?!
(don't trust me, trust your own eyes, see: http://www.famatech.com/....php?FID=9&TID=4667)
That's right, Radmin Version 3 was promised in 2001 and finally delivered in 2007 ...
No user should be kept waiting for six years for an upgrade. Shame on you, Famatech!

Too little and too late. I have been using RAdmin 2.1 for very long time but development stop for long while and I have moved to other solutions. I am using Windows XP/2003 Remote Administration combined with OpenVPN tunnel and VNC if I really need to see screen. It was really good software but to make so few changes over two years just show you commitment to product. See ya later Famatech (or never)
c4p0ne reviewed v3.0 Beta 1 on May 18, 2006
TOO LITTLE TOO LATE. They made everyone wait *5* f*cking years and THIS is the result?? This is a buggy piece of CRAP that even if it becomes the best remote admin software (as 2.1 was) I wouldn't buy it if my entire chain of stores' wellbeing depended on it. And that is *IF* it EVER comes out of beta. Lets remember the fake release date announcements on their forums (more then 20 of them in 4 1/2 years) staing "its coming out end of the month". BS.
Now they finally release this pre-alpha crap (no way this can be considered beta) to calm the angry clients a little while they prepare to make them wait ANOTHER 2 years for an RC. Like I said, even if the program becomes superior (as it might), it takes way too long and people won't pay for it, they'll just wait for the software to be cracked and use it. And thats the brutal truth.

WARNING RADMIN INSTALLERS!
We still continue with RADMIN SERVER 3.0 development and in-house testing. So the current version of the new Server is not available for download at this moment. One of the main reasons is that the new security network protocol is not thoroughly enough tested for security. Moreover the current program code is not protected against code changes. So, this version is not available to the public for security reasons.
Check out there site they will release the Server when its safe!

Only the viewer portion has been released for testing, but I find many of the new features useful already (as I posted in the Famatech forum), expecially since I have over 40 remote systems I administer via RAdmin. - In my experience, RAdmin is easier to use and faster than VNC, though you do have to pay for RAdmin, and it only works in the Windows environment. I also never have the stability issues I had with VNC (as I posted in the VNC UseNet group). RAdmin is a lot less expensive than some of the other remote administration programs available.
cyberguy reviewed v3.0 Beta on Feb 11, 2004
I will stick with VNC myself. It's cheaper, and it works. It's too bad that Famatech has to put in their own good reviews to the the rating up. Nice try, but they would be better served to see why the ratings are low and fix them rather than artifically pump up the rating only to get people to buy the program.

I thought it was good as long as started to use StyleXP, Aqua Dock and YzShadow together. It won't display any of my popup-menus. I think it is why i use transparated menus in YzShadow. Even my Aqua Dock programs list won't show up. PLEASE FIX THIS OR I HAVE TO FIND SOMETING ELSE.

Radmin is the best software I have used in a long time. I am very impressed with its size and effectiveness. It's great. Congratulations on a great product.
I bought my license a long time ago well before 2.1 came out and even 1.0 was the best also. Great job.

It would have been good but VNC is free and requires no registration. $700 for my site is not cost effective. The program itself might be alright but money talks and as VNC is probably their biggest competitor, they will control the market. Good luck to the company though.

This program is alrite, but VNC in my eyes is a much better program and much thoroughly tested.

it's also free!. btw to that person who said use telnet. Yes telnet is nice enough when your playing around with your unix box (linux, bsd whatever you may choose) but tell me how am I going to telnet into my Windows 98/ME machine (yes I know Win2k has a telnet server built in). Also vnc support unix, so you can sit their on your unix machine controlling your windows machine or vice versa.

Awesome! It needs a tray icon for the "Viewer App", adjustable "Refresh Frames" and to add the "Color Depth" adjustment to the right click menu of the "Viewer App". Also, It should "NOT" Refresh Frames when minimized (to cut down on network traffic). I'm going to use it like a cheap software KeyboardVideoMonitor switch. -Later-

I can download the Solaris or Linux version of Remote Administrator! I work in a mixed environment, and VNC is the only software that works on my Unix boxes, PCs, Macs, and my Palm Pilot. So, compare it to PCA or whatever, but VNC wins hands down!! -ab
