Publisher's Description

Registry Mechanic will safely clean and repair Windows registry problems with a few simple mouse clicks. Problems with the Windows registry are a common cause of Windows crashes and error messages. By regularly cleaning and fixing your registry, your system should not only be more stable but it will also help Windows and your software run faster. It uses a high-performance detection algorithm to quickly identify missing and invalid references in your Windows registry. These problems can occur for many reasons including being left-behind after the un-installation or incorrect removal of software, by missing or corrupt hardware drivers, or orphaned startup programs.

Crap software, avoid it all costs!
I downloaded trial version and could not to remove it from my computer. After uninstall PC hangs up. If i do reset - windows don't boots up. System restore from DVD instalation disk fixed it but then again i have this software in my computer. So i assume you can't get rid of this software untill you pay for it ? :P

My previous comment about Registry Mechanic 9 was removed due to some reason, so i wrote it again. Now i have bad opinion about this file forum too :)

Registry Mechanic is really good with the powerful and integrated functions. Here I found a review about this:

This app has one serious flaw. When you click the 'X' to close it, IT DOESN'T CLOSE ! Instead, it minimizes to your tray and you have to take extra step to right click on the tray icon and once again click on CLOSE. I don't know about the rest of you, but when I click an 'X', I expect the app to CLOSE ! Other than that, it will find and fix many registry errors. Not all, by a long shot, but used in combination wiith other registry cleaners, it can prove to be useful. Low rating is ONLY because of the closure issue . . .

I only get this error "Unicode systems are currently not supported". Is this a joke? Windows is Unicode since Windows NT continuing with 2000, XP, Vista, or they don't know what is Unicode. I don't trust a program made by such programmers.
From the forum I understood that the program works on US systems only, not if I have installed an Interface language pack for Windows.
Version 8, 2009 and such unsolved problem?

I'll give this a 5 as I use to use Advanced Registry Optimizer, then Tweak PowerPack Pro 2006 and CCleaner has a little registry cleaner for free. So I wanted to try Registry Mechanic to see what's everyone talking about. After registering the program I was able to do a test run.

Well boy after using the above programs to clean the registry and see Mechanic found some more problems than the other seem to missed! I ran program remotely into wireless systems from wired source it work without a hitch.

Pack the registry down to 1MB from 40MB still not bad. It has some other tools I see not reason to use them, like they were just thrown in there to fill the gap.

But that's all this program is good for to manage the registry. And I gave it 5 out 5 for finding more crap that the others failed to find..

This is the one registry cleaner that you can trust. It only picks up the junk left over from an uninstall and broken kin ks in the registry. I have so much confidence in this program that I set it to delete automatically

Had heard so much about this program I tried it. It is one of those that finds everything then says register and you can eliminate them. How is that supposed to tell you anything? Poor way of doing things.

Great program. Simple and easy to use.
Seems to work very well. I do not see any other program better than this.

it's alrite. good interface, good implamentation of features, all of which do seem to affect performance to some degree, varying from system to system, such as unloading unused DLLs from the memory after use more quickly. but dont expect any miracles -- it merely removes what it deems invalid references, and they usually are, however for the short term this is harmless junk -- im not going to say on the long term effects of the "buildup" of these entries. who knows. also there are a considerable number of other softs which do share the same basic features, but at the cost of being less noob-orientated, are more in depth when it comes to finding useless entries(RegSeeker,Hover Inc.), and don't cost $19.95, infact nothing at all. you could argue "but which has better support?" well, u'll have to pay $19.95 to find out.

I think PC Tools makes the very best softwares. PC Tools seems to be aware of making a high reputation for it´s softwares and to advertise them intensively. Registry Mechanic is one of those high quality softwares. I also think, therefore, that their softwares are safer than many other softwares from other companies. Now, Registry Mechanic, is faster and better than ever! Björn Lundahl, Gothenburg, Sweden

Much better than v5.0. Improved in scanning speed and error detection, and stabilaty. I ran some tests:

v5.0 - ~12 min - 19 errors
v5.1 - ~4 min - 163 errors

And v5.0 doesn't crash a lot like v5.0!

I have been a registered user of this product for two years, just having registered again. It is a good product and does clean all of the garbage out of the registry. Is it perfect, no! Does it work, Yes. Everybody wants something for nothing, but I don't mind paying a few bucks to people who then have a reason to make it better and take some responsibility for their work. For the money, it is a good product.

I am sorry for the low rating.
A trial version, that does NOT allow restore of removed items is unacceptable.
It is severly limited in fuinctionality while under trial ontop of it.
This is useless to be posted here due to this limitation.
I have run RegSeeker prior to this results

00100001110 I have seen your reviews b4. They are the most popular, why not proclaim it. They would not be the most popular it it did not work. Everything turns u off. Get a life! This is an excellent piece of software. Works as described.

Not true ckliebert, I gave CCleaner a five star rating because for the most part it works as described on the site, however PC Tools says if I don't user a cleaner like theirs my PC is only going nowhere. If I delete a registry entry, will Registry Mechanic recognize this and alert me of this "danger" ?

Would Registry Mechanic scan my registry in it's current working state, back-up an image and analyze this the next time I run the software, to see if there are any serious inconsistences, rather than just deleting data relating to third-party tools which pose no harm anyway, ie a reference to a desktop shortcut which no longer exists: this is the cause of common Windows crashes and errors? No. I've yet to see such an "optimizer".

I've always liked products by PC Tools, but this just isn't as good as their Spyware Doctor. The organization is nice, but Registry Mechanic just doesn't find as many entries as RegSeeker does. Also, RegSeeker is freeware and this isn't. Even though Registry Mechanic found 32 entries that RegSeeker didn't, I can't remove them unless I pay for the program. I don't feel thats worth it.

Great program. Easy to use and works very well. I've also used RegCleaner, RegSeeker, RegSupreme Pro, jv16 Powertools, Registry First Aid, Ace Utilites and more. I like Registry Mechanic the best.
The company that makes this seems to be on the rise. They also make the excellent Spyware Doctor which rates as one of the very best anti-spyware tools.

Nice application.
I've always used the 3.x version and loved it.
Just bought this new release.

It does a good and fast job searching for invalid registery items and fixes or removes them.
It has a whole new GUI as well, the screenshot posted on Fileforum is outdated from the 3.x version.

Put out a beta that isnt fully functional then dont even make the program available for purchase. Gotta be a marketing genius behind this program.
