Maybe fix your problems, maybe make things worse. Reminds me of the old Norton anti-virus, which caused more problems than any virus could.

I was spending hours looking at YouTube videos to solve the Diagnostic Policy Server issue. I decided to take a gamble on this, as it came up in my searching.
Thank you Tweakers. This is great software. I would strongly recommend it.

Pros: Its free.

Cons: Destroyed 2 of my old storage hard drives, I lost 2tb of old saved stuff. And the creator has done a very good job of insulating himself from ANY contact. Even the "support forum" is fake. I see the reviews are either 5 star or 1 star. Who is being honest? Bottom line, I wish I never used it.

Bottom Line: Maybe fix your problems, maybe make things worse. Reminds me of the old Norton anti-virus, which caused more problems than any virus could.

Pros: Simple enough for me to use.
It solved my problem.

Which was: The module "firewallapi.dll" was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80020009.

And: Windows defender can't change some of your settings. Error Code 0x8007042c

The price/value ration was great. My alternative was to have BestBuy fix this for $49.95. And if it happens again on another Windows 10 software upgrade, I'm protected.

Cons: Surprisingly, no cons.

Bottom Line: I was spending hours looking at YouTube videos to solve the Diagnostic Policy Server issue. I decided to take a gamble on this, as it came up in my searching.
Thank you Tweakers. This is great software. I would strongly recommend it.

@FreeSpeech - My Pc's are imaged regularly & can be restored in a matter of minutes - This program can be useful in repairing PC's used by those who don't image & backup, these things can be done manually of course but it's still a useful program IMO ~

This is for n00bz that don't have a clue about imaging and backups. Most of these n00bz "think" they are advanced PC users.

wow can't believe the bad rap this program gets, This is really not a program you start screwing with on a clean machine,,,, sure it could !@#$^ up
this program is designed to help a already screwed up machine. Like last resort before a reinstall. As I stated before this could be your friend or foe. In most cases I have used this software on the computers are to corrupt to save this is a last ditch effort. But it does what it says ....and if you think a windows restore points going to help you good luck, use Acronis and clone your hard disk before playing a game of Operation

Not with a Bargepole..... Not even tested it.

@oompoop
##To avoid "Callup" for O/s disks. You will need to point this proggy to the i386 & Service Pack/cache folders on your C:drive Either thru proggy configs or via regedit..... ##Prob: with (18) Repair VSC service....Fix = (Run chkdsk).
When you've fixed your disk, (Start > Run > sfc /scannow) To get your Sys files back to Defaults. Then chuck this proggy out the Window. Good Luck.

@some guy
Rates this App, BUT, note the remarks made... ^_^

@Hilbert
I'm sure Members/Peeps will take on board your remarks.
Well said, about logging M8... ^_^

@FreeSpeech
I'm gonna get you an Audience with the Queen..!!
(Well summed up) "SIR" or "MADAM"... ^_^

Summary: "IF" you gotta give Apps like these "A GO"..
1) Make a Disk Image if you have the software. (Don't rely on "Sys Restore" alone).
2) Make a registry Backup, & Save a copy Externally.
3) Make sure you have your Original O/s disks handy in case you Screw your system up & need to use "Safe Mode" or (R).
4) LOGGING... Before you run Duffer Apps .. lol.... Take a "Before & After" Registry comparison. -http://sourceforge.net/projects/regshot/

Good Luck.!! Anyone who got Screwed (up).

Very nice idee, but ...
1. Asked me two times for a WinXPPro-Install-CD, and then, at the third request, for my WinXPHome-CD.
2. Stopped at 18 - Repair Volume Shadow Copy Service:
"Couldn't complete ..."
3. Could only stop it working with "brute force", because:
"Waiting for current repair to finish" :-((
I will try it once more with an unmarked option 18 ...

some guy

some guy reviewed v1.9.17 on Sep 11, 2013

when all else fails give it a try ! a very good tool to repair damage done by viruses after the virus is removed . Like so many other tools their is no all in wonder. But this tool is very handy and can be very deadly in the wrong hands, not for the novice, more for the expert!

Hilbert

Hilbert reviewed v1.9.16 on Sep 5, 2013

Whilst I love the power of this program, it doesn't log everything it does--the log file is nigh on useless.

When my registry is tweaked I expect to know exactly what those tweaks are and this program does not do that. Even for experienced users, especially with the default settings as ticked, one could end up with a disaster.

Sure, the program amply warns you to backup but that's not the point--you might want to know what the changes were to a particular registry key at any time and that's why a detailed log is essential.

Forget this program, it's still far too immature and incomplete.

--

P.S. Despite Uriel's comments, I didn't screw my registry and if I did I'd restore from my ERUNT backup--that marvelous registry backup utility. To illustrate the problem, I'll use the WMI fix as an example (i.e.: the only item ticked). Tweaking.com (or the Windows utilities that it called made hundreds of adjustments (you can see the corrections taking place) yet the log file said essentially nothing except that it was repairing under both the user and system accounts.

- Promts Donate & Other Apps
- Simpicity in itself.
It is everything you can do "manually" rolled into one. Which makes it
easy for the guys with no experience with the reg & system.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you're a noob, use with extreme caution. You could put all your
system configs back to default, & after Re-Boot the damage is done.!!
Your App configs will then be affected, & on it goes...... Don't be
Mis-led that a "system restore" will undo all changes you make.
Personally, This app is a No-No & should be given a miss.
Nice tight little repair tool. Like all programs that attempt to make repairs to your registry and other critical system files, this should be used with caution. Know what it is changing before you run it or back up your sys files. As to Dbrain, a troll, is a troll, is a troll. The program contains no malware. None
boaz
boaz reviewed v1.6.3 on Feb 1, 2012
This program does not contain any Malware, that I am aware of. It's really useful for us PC service tech's that work in the business, and dangerous for some regular users. You should know what you are doing, and what all of these fixes are actually doing. Many of these fixes can be done manually, through registry edits, but this program simplifies things.
Uriel
Uriel reviewed v1.6.2 on Jan 30, 2012
I would hardly consider this to be malware. Like all tools that mess around with the system files they either make or break the system. Thus the number one rule for these types of applications is to first make an image backup of your system. This program attempts to fix the system and it just keeps getting better and better. If you run into bugs problems you should let them know on their forum as the developer is always polishing the product. It's free and I find it to be very helpful.
Just what happened to me, maybe it will be GREAT for you!!
Hilbert
Hilbert reviewed v1.5.8 on Jan 5, 2012
Nice package. Not sure that I yet trust this level of automation though.
It's dead easy to undo one's carefully configured settings by accidentally ticking the wrong box. Also, it's a pain getting it to stop when it's in a loop looking for CD files which it can't find.
In summary, user needs more control and it's powerfully dangerous in the wrong hands.
