+) Improved syslinux V3/V4 support, can create bootable USB disk from ISO image of popular linux distributions, including:
Debian live 6.03
Knoppix 6.7
Backtrack 5
Fedora 15
OpenSUSE 11.4
CentOS Live 6
Mandriva Linux 2011

A terrific application. It supports all of the CD/DVD image formats I could desire and has plenty of customization options (including ability to enable/disable shell integration). The interface is clean and usable (I can't stand how many apps lead you through wizards with enormous colorful buttons). The only downside is the cost. I would like to see this as freeware.

PE stands for Personal Edition I think, but yes UltraISO PE is synonymous with buying UltraISO.

I have been using UltraISO for a while now, and I have loved it. It was always rock-solid! But recently, be wary of buggy 9.x.x.x versions. I reported a bug testing ISZ files with 9.0.0.2336, which was fixed. The problem was that the bug was fixed, but the version was not changed. Then I tried 9.1.2.2463, and it crashed while trying to use it to burn a CD. I went back to 9.0.0.2336 and I burned the same image without a problem. I have not yet dared to test 9.1.2.2465. UltraISO has many great features and supports many formats. I hope future versions are tested more thoroughly, or else I will have to find different software.

Wow! Full support for proprietary formats like:

.DAA
.UIF
.DMG
.HFS

makes UltraISO THE application to beat for disk image management.

Even though ImgBurn is free, it does not support those formats and LUK has stated he doesn't intend to add support for them in the future.

So, if you want a one stop solution, UltraISO is about the only option I'm aware of that can do the trick.

If you are going to purchase only one program of this type, make sure it's UltraISO. It's simply the best in its class.

Well done.

I use this for manipulating and trying out data--never really considered it as an CD/DVD writing tool. Nlite for example, if you forget to add something to a custom install disc, UltraISO lets you add files and/or folders to the ISO file. Plus you can shrink images down with it's built in compression. Very useful tool and free updates.

A VERY good program! I agree with DeXter -- everybody STOP comparing it with ISOBUSTER. They are in NO WAY similar programs -- apples and oranges! ISOBUSTER is a DATA RECOVERY program [CD-DVD etc]. That's it's purpose & it does a WONDERFUL job. I've never seen another program come close, and I've tried most of 'em.

ULTRAISO is a ISO file utility. Period! A great program for working with/extracting/converting/burning/etc ISO and related files.

One final note -- ISOBUSTER is NOT FREE!
So, peeps, get your facts straight -- or again agreeing with DeXter, run this page through a translation program to get it into your "native language" [assuming it's something spoken by earthlings.

I wish people like "ArabianNight" should be banned from reviewing. I bet this "ArabianNight" didn't even try out UltraISO.

Comming back to this program, I feel UltraISO is heading to become an all-image sorta program, even dealing with multiple formats of HDD and FDD images, which is great! (Although the floppy image functionality is nowhere near WinImage)

I have an IBM ThinkPad which ships with the RecordNow software for burning. I made an image of a CD with RecordNow, but unfortunately, it stored the image in a weird format (.gi). I thought IsoBuster could handle it, but it couldnt.
UltraISO was the only program that could open the file. Later I converted it into a standard .iso, and I had my CD back. You should see the incredible no. of formats UltraISO supports. This is just one amongst the multiple uses of this program.

And for the last time people, PLEASE! IsoBuster and UltraISO are TOTALLY DIFFERENT PROGRAMS FOR DIFFERENT PURPOSES. IF YOU CANNOT UNDERSTAND THIS, THEN I SUGGEST YOU TRANSLATE THIS INTO A LANGUAGE YOU CAN UNDERSTAND!!!

Highly recommended, even to the people who whine that software costs money. So do computers, sell yours if you can't afford software.

[deXter]

[deXter] reviewed v7.5.1.965 on Jan 30, 2005

This is the only *good* program of its kind (better than WinISO & MagicISO)- The no. of image formats supported by it is quite impressive! It may seem a bit costly for ordinary home users, but its an invaluable tool for CD/Content managers/authors. I personally edit, update and dabble with ISOs and images- and this program makes dealing with content totally hassle free and easy to use- Not to mention fast. Plus it has a lot of extra goodies like support for cd/data optimizations, integrated burning and more.

If ordinary users just want to handle various image formats, or write them etc, then its much cheaper (relatively free) to use your bundled burner (Nero?) and Daemon Tools to manage various image formats. And people, please don't get confused with ISOBuster- ISOBuster is a totally different program with a totally different purpose.

This program does what its meant to do, and does it excellently I might add.

@Rob2771:: Yes, you has right. The author has been change the Register-key Algorythmus, that key generators any longer do not function. Otherwise nothing was not changed concerning the functions - improvements!
But I use the tools ISOBUSTER and ISO-Commander - there was free for studens as me. If you want support this tools, make a donate - so it was cheaper than as the commercial ULTRAIso software.
