Publisher's Description

Wake On LAN Ex is an application designed to be used with computers that contain network cards which are set to turn on when a "magic packet" is received. Running Wake On LAN Ex, entering the required details, and hitting Send will cause the WOL-enabled computer to turn itself on and boot as normal. Depending on its WOL abilities, the destination computer can be sleeping, hibernating, or entirely off and still be able to react to a Wake-On-LAN event.

Fabulous! Very simple to install, setup and use. Easy to understand, very clearly written Readme.txt gives you all the info you need. I appreciate that it isn't cluttering up the registry. It will also shutdown or reboot the remote machine if it is NT or above and you have a valid account on it. This is a little tricky because you have to get yourself authenticated via a file share or something like that first. My ony gripe is that I had to find a RAR utility to unpack it. If the author really likes RAR, I would suggest offering 2 downloads, one in RAR and one in Zip. But what's to complain about? It's free after all. I also like the fact that the author does a checksum in the code to see if the executable may have possibly been altered by a virus. Nice touch!
