As usual, Mike, the program gets better and better. When you came out with the life time subscription I signed up for that simply because based on my past experience with you and Weather Watcher I know that you are good for your word. I look forward to a continued and long relationship with you and Weather Watcher Live and i know that I'm going to be getting more than my money's worth.

I like this application and seldom, if ever have I ever given Weather Watcher Live less than a 5 star review. If you don't like this program, don't use it and at the same time don't rate it simly because he happens to charge for it. I'm willing to bet that 99% of you folks are trolls and you'd want all software to be free and still you'd complain.

Keep up the good work, Mike Singer, right along with all the other folks who charge for their software downloads which some of are good and others which leave a bit to be desired.

@Music4Ever, I welcome all reviews (even yours). It would be helpful if you'd keep your reviews on topic and make them about the software (instead of about me replying to reviews here). Replying to these reviews in my forum is not a reasonable "workaround". Until this system allows for replying to reviews, I will continue to reply in any way that is most helpful. Helping people is my ultimate goal. I know that makes you very unhappy for some reason, but that's really of no concern to me because it's kind of silly.

Music4Ever

Music4Ever reviewed v7.1.78 on Dec 31, 2012

@CJ-CA - I'm sorry but this is a review site, if Mr Singer you don't like negative reviews he ought to remove his software from it - People look at the review then see many stars & assume that many separate reviews have rated it & are influenced by that - The star rating is skewed by Mr Singers constant 5 star reviews, so some sort of counterbalance needs to be in effect - No one tells me to be gone BTW, that includes you ~

And because you personally happen to think this software deserves 5 stars does not mean others have to agree with you - Where I live we are still allowed our opinions fortunately.

Mike Singer has given his own program 5 stars 32 times - That's unfair & messes up the system on FileForum because of the way it works - Mike use your own forum for the questions & i'll stop my reviews.

Quote:

'my intention is not to review -- but, to reply to reviews in order to answer questions. It would be best if this site allowed people to reply to comments. That's not an option, so this is my workaround'

This site does not allow people to reply to comments as you well know so stop doing it & live with the fact or use another review site - And each & every time you leave a comment you have to click on the link - 'Write a Review' so, you are fully aware you are reviewing your own product. (Penny dropped yet?)

The proper 'workaround' is below: - Your very own forum, & actually you are the only software provider that abuses the star rating system on here:

Yet again I give the link for Singer Creations forum: ------>
http://www.singerscreations.com/Forum/

@gatorfan95 - He has a forum & has had one for some time ~

@Mike Singer: I don't know have you have the temerity mention my review as your latest one neither mentioned the software either - As for being 'silly' I am waiting for a job to finish so it's no problem at all, personally I feel it's you who are unreasonable absolute & as you are quite happy to abuse this system, that probably says a lot about you? I'm so pleased you enjoy reading my reviews & therefore shall continue in the same manner ad infinitum ~ And that's now 33 five star reviews from you ;-)

@gatorfan95, my intention is not to review -- but, to reply to reviews in order to answer questions. It would be best if this site allowed people to reply to comments. That's not an option, so this is my workaround.

You're reviewing just to post negative comments -- not even about the product itself. And, that isn't helping anyone. You're free to post your opinions too though, so continue on with your bad self :)

gatorfan95

gatorfan95 reviewed v7.1.69 on Nov 1, 2012

Just because I'm a naysayer. He still should not be reviewing or rating his own program on this site. Period

@Mark Singer. You are rating your own program and using this review site as your own private forum. You are not even posting opinions, only thanking your fan boys for their good reviews and using your program. If you want to pat yourself on the back, take some of the money you are making off the program and get your own website and forum. I will say it again, what you are doing is patently dishonest. I will continue to rate this program a 1 every time you rate it a 5.

CJ-CA

CJ-CA reviewed v7.1.69 on Nov 1, 2012

Fully agree with Mike Singer, Weather Watcher deserves 5 stars and more. I started with this app when it was free, loved it enough to purchase when free was no longer an option. Will keep it on my laptop FOREVER.

Mike Singer

@WizeGuy, weather data on the level of detail that Weather Watcher Live provides is never free. It's either purchased or paid for through advertising. Weather Watcher Live is ad-free, so the subscription model allows for those costs to be covered. It's a business model that's proven and consumers who take part understand that it allows those businesses to exist.

WizeGuy

WizeGuy reviewed v7.1.50 on Aug 1, 2012

Yes, after your FREE 30 day trial period, you too can think you own the software by purchasing your annual subscription to a program the aggregates free weather data and never stops charging you for doing it. I really dislike this marketing model. My advice, boycott this approach; it's really bad for the consumer.

Mike Singer

Mike Singer reviewed v7.1.37 on Jun 26, 2012

@Music4Ever, my intent was simply to answer questions or clear up confusion posted here. FileForum does not allow me to post comments on reviews -- like many other software forums do.

@gatorfan95, Weather Watcher Live includes a lot of weather data that cannot be accessed on free websites. If you're just looking for basic weather data and don't mind taking the extra step to get to the data, then I suppose free websites are the ideal solution.

gatorfan95

gatorfan95 reviewed v7.1.37 on Jun 26, 2012

I used this before it was pay to play and really liked it. However. with apologies to Mike, I cant see paying for something that accesses data I can get for free from the same sources this program uses. I know it's not his fault, he did what he had to do to keep it going, but.......I cannot give it a 5 star rating...4 1/2 If I could.

@music, I dont think it was a review, just an explanation why free weather apps have gone away.

Music4Ever

Music4Ever reviewed v7.1.37 on Jun 26, 2012

If you really want to learn about the weather find local weather stations & learn a little rather than relying on fancy app like programs than this. 1 star to make up for the authors many 5 star reviews. BTW - You don't review your own programs Mike.

No need to add further reviews as users can go:-

@gatorfan95 - There are 27 of them - All 5 star ~ (28 now)

@Mike - 'Weather Watcher Live includes a lot of weather data that cannot be accessed on free websites' - That is simply not true, at least in the UK at least ~ I can find just about any facet of weather to the second using the many free accurate weather sites that are run by those interested in meteorology & also the governmental sites, I have around 50 in my bookmarks, just for the UK with far more for EU & world weather ~

And it's unfair to stick a 5 star rating on each & every point you make (28 now), that's what your forum & help are for not a review site such as this ~

I believe the reviewer was complaining that he doesn't like having to seek out the date/time of weather retrieval to see if it is timely, and that there should be some easier way provided by the interface, without having to check/compare dates/times. This will be my last review on BetaNews.

I retract all the positive things I said previously about WWL. I have dropped this application permanently--and I mean literally for life I will never try it again. I fought the good fight trying to post positive reviews, but I give up. I respected Mike Singer for his efforts, but his efforts have fallen short for my taste.

I wasted far too much time and energy trying to get it to work, and I give up. Speaking of time and energy, I have not enough of either to go into all my reasons, but I can mention a few:

I got tired of having to check, EVERY SINGLE TIME, if the weather info was timely. Too many times I didn't check and thus trusted info that was actually hours old. It's too inconvenient to check a date and time and compare that to the current date/time to ensure it's timely.

I got tired of opening a weather alert and being taken to a web page for a different ZIP code and/or a different city. Hey, Mr. Singer, when there's a tornado warning in my area, IT MATTERS to me that I look at alert info for the right area! Not only do I have to verify date/time, I have to verify and correct the area. So... WHY use WWL?

I got tired of trying to figure out--and report to Mike Singer--why the temperatures I was seeing for some stations were 7F or 8F different from others, and just as different from my own outside thermometer.

I got tired of error messages saying my preferred weather station was inaccessible. A few times when this happened, I determined which URL WWL was trying to access, and I found I could manually access it. What gives?

I got tired of having no way to configure the backup weather station. When the aforementioned errors would occur, WWL would invariably revert to using a lousy local station which always reported weather info I found worse than useless (e.g. temps far off from my own observations, and those of NWS).

All of these things happened again and again and again and again. It was an endless loop of aggravation. Report to Mike Singer? Done. And done again. And again.

If you can't trust the weather info, it's useless.

So, I give up. For good.

Waste of over $50.

Do NOT try figuring out (or assuming) who I am and contacting me.

I think Weather Watcher Live is wonderful!!

Its the best Weather software for Windows I have ever used!

However its got 2 very annoying bugs!

1. Internet Explorer 9 causes the "Skin Tooltip" to show behide all opened windows!

2. The Temp icon in the system tray disappears for a few seconds when getting new weather info from local stations.

If these 2 bugs can get fixed Weather Watcher Live will be perfect!!

But I do have some hope that these 2 bugs will be fixed someday!

Mike Singer

Mike Singer reviewed v7.0.33 on Oct 27, 2010

@dhry, here are some benefits of version 7:

- Offers data from WeatherBug, Weather Underground and NWS weather stations.

- You can access many more weather stations. In Weather Watcher 5, I see one weather station for my zip code. I can access 65 weather stations in version 7.

- In most areas, you can access current conditions from weather stations that are streaming data in realtime. Weather Watcher 5's weather stations sometimes don't update for up to 45 minutes.

- If you live outside of the US, you'll be able to access hourly forecasts.

- Better software. Less bugs. Version 5 is quite old now.

- Comfort of knowing you'll be using a software product that is consistently maintained and improved upon.

I'm happy that Weather Watcher 5 is still up and running and people are still able to use it for free. I guess that'll last until The Weather Channel decides to cut is data feed.

I find it a little odd that you rated version 7 at two stars though. Aren't ratings supposed to reflect the quality of the software, rather than your disapproval for not being able to use a product (that you didn't even try) for free?

Plumber

Plumber reviewed v7.0.33 on Oct 27, 2010

Keverin sez: "What's the point of paying for a weather forecast when you have a window in your house, and weather forecast on all TV stations ?"

What's the point of WWL, since you have windows and TVs?

Wow.

Let me take another drink and let this simmer.

Wow.

OK, the drink isn't helping. I'll go on anyway.

Last night and this morning, my area had several NOAA-issued "tornado watches". Could I glean that from looking out the window, especially at night? Can you tell, by looking out the window, what wind speeds will be four hours from now? Do you have lawn furniture that you don't want blowing away? Did you used to?

Do you have a TV in every room in your home? I do not. I have a single TV, and it is only used for videos, because I despise TV.

TV weather personnel also have this nasty habit of not catering to my explicit personal requests, whether it's to view maps, hourly weather info, or anything else. I have tried shouting at the TV, but they flatly refuse to display what I want, when I want. By the way, with WWL, I can do all that.

Wait, the window/TV thing was a joke. Ah, I get it. Good one!

Rating WWL down because all you want is the temperature is like rating a great stereo system down because you happen to have poor hearing.

TWC has nothing to do with the $9.95/year subscription fee for Weather Watcher Live. The subscription will be used to cover the many costs that are involved in supporting, maintaining, and improving the product, as well as maintaining and delivering the weather content.

Weather Watcher Live was freeware since its creation, but it was by no means free for me to create and maintain it. It's not possible to create a good piece of software that is functional and reliable without putting a lot of time and effort into it. Unfortunately, time and effort can be quite costly.

Nobody is being forced to upgrade and pay the subscription fee. Weather Watcher Live has been around for a while now, so it's very easy to find older versions on the Internet. I even have the last freeware build posted in my forum.

Yeah--blame TWC. WWL doesn't even get data from TWC (Weather.com); it uses WeatherBug.com.

If my WWL issues were ever resolved, I'd pay for it. But I'd really like to see a one-time "lifetime" license option offered (perhaps for $39.95), since I have a psychological aversion to recurring fees.

In any event, I think $10/year for up to 3 computers is a pretty fair price, given WWL's development history. I think upgrades should be based on versions rather than time, but again, WWL has a very good track record. (I'd still MUCH prefer a one-time fee though...)

orton1

orton1 reviewed v6.1.1 on Aug 7, 2009

From what I've been reading at WWL support forums it was The Weather Channel, demanding a huge cut of WWL profits and a separate licensing fee for use of their data, that forced the developer to start charging for this program. This is not the first time TWC has been messing with weather apps that use their data (can you say monopoly).
The developer says that the previous version 6.0.34 will still continue to function as freeware without updates. Since I really do like the program, I have disabled the update checking feature and will continue using 6.0.34 for the time being.

I believe this to be the best desktop program of its type. I thank Mr. Singer for having mde it available free for a period of time. I will not be paying $20/year for such a service, but I do not question his needs or right to change the current policy. Certainly a great deal of time and effort has gone in to this project.
Iin a cluttered market of such applications and widgets including those free for iPhone I have no reason to pay for this. I continue to rate it five stars for its quality, price not being a factor.

Excellent program and keeps me updated on the current weather state and alerts. When i had installation problems many versions ago i communicated with the author, Mr. Singer, and he worked through the issues and appears to have resolved them. The program is easy to use and well laid out. It may not be the NOAA weather bureau, but more than adequate to keep abreast of what i need to know. I highly recommend this over the Weather Bug, Weather Underground, and Weather Channel.

Still works poorly for me. I enter one ZIP code for a station, and then get severe weather alerts for a different ZIP code. (The weather updates themselves, at least, seem to come in for the correct station.) I also have to constantly check to make sure that the weather data I'm looking at is fresh.

Because of these problems and limitations, I still find it easier to visit weather.gov or weather.com for weather info. Even the limited True Launch Bar "Weather Forecast" plugin is much more useful to me.

Thanks for the option to allow maps to be unchanged. If I might, there's one other feature that I've used in weather pulse (I believe) -- associating a map to a station. In WWL and WW this might be implemented by associating a desktop image with a weather station. So when I change stations, my desktop image would change too. In WWL, this station-centered map might replace the default map -- or in both programs, there might be a "local map" item. Thanks again for being responsive ... and for creating a great program!

@Soozy, most WeatherBug weather stations are recording the daily/monthly/yearly rainfall. If you see "N/A", then your selected weather station is not recording that information. You could e-mail WeatherBug to let them know -- they might be able to resolve the issue by contacting the weather station owner.

Mr. Singer, honestly, what is the point to me posting in the forum again about the problems I've had with WWL? I've already done so.

My main issues with WWL are:

* The interface is annoyingly slow. It drives me nuts that after I click the tray icon, I have to wait 6-7 seconds for the window to appear. (My PC is not the latest and greatest, but I have no general performance problems. I think that if I can run Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 without problems, I should be able to get acceptable performance out of WWL on the same system.)

* Every time I use WWL, I have to verify that the data is current. I have to do this because occasionally, I find it has not been updated in hours, yet nowhere is it made obvious that the data is stale. This really, really annoys me. It's faster and easier for me to simply open a Weather.com web page in Firefox.

Other than that (and a couple other, more minor gripes), I like WWL quite a bit.

Well ripfuel, I have to disagree. I do regret using WWL. I have encountered a few really aggravating problems:

* The window takes an annoyingly long time to appear after I click the tray icon (~6 seconds or so, whereas WW never had that problem).

* Since it doesn't update reliably, I CONSTANTLY have to check the "Now" tab to see what the "Observed" date/time is, to make sure I'm not looking at data that is 16 hours old. I wish the "Observed" date/time was on every tab, and more prominent.

- Or, better yet, do what some AV applications do, and warn me if the data (in their case, virus signatures) is older than a certain threshold. For example, if I open the main window, and the data is over 4 hours old, indicate that. Why not? I really HATE having to check the "Observed" date/time, then checking the current date/time, then figuring out in my head how old the data is.

* Sometimes, auto updates don't work, clicking Update does nothing, and I'm stuck with really old data. I have to restart WWL to get around this. When this happens, my internet connection is fine.

* Often, the tray icon becomes italicized and stays that way until I restart WWL. This happens even when WWL has successfully updated the data.

Weather Watcher Live is the best program to install. The main reason is the live weather feedback & it is a better program to me than weather watcher alone. I'd recommend WWL over WW. It has been very stable on my system, the weather sources are more plentiful, and I haven't found many bugs worth dumping it for. (The main bug I've encountered is that the tray icon sometimes becomes italicized when weatherbug.com isn't available, and stays that way permanently. I guess the question of why weatherbug.com isn't deemed available is also an issue, because whenever that's happened in WWL, I could easily browse to weatherbug.com using Firefox and MSIE.)

Had a program called "Free Weather" on my poor old Pentium 3 computer running Windows 95, and liked it so much that I transfered it over to my wonderful new dual core computer running Windows XP, where, during some upgrade, XP ate it.

Searched all over the web and couldn't find a download of "Free Weather" although there is a Free Weather site with the same graphics. Had very frustrating search for a free weather program with a tray icon, severe weather alerts, and nationwide reporting stations. Finally found Weather Watcher.

Except for the stylized moon phase graphics Weather Watcher otherwise has everything that Free Weather had and more. The ease of adding and changing active stations is particularly helpful for a frequent traveler, and the tooltip is handy, although sometimes doesn't show all the info I've checked in options - and Weather Watcher even has has reporting stations for back of beyond locations.

Very much worth downloading or even supporting with a donation.

This is an very excellent program esp. for the price. What more can a person ask for when it comes to a free product? I'm extremely pleased with this program as well as this update that I've done although I had not had any problems with the other version I had. As far as closing out when i clicked the exit...it did just fine. This is also a program that can be used with other programs without taking up a bunch of cpu memory...The maker new how to make this program for most operating systems. I also use this along with another weather program called weather exchange it too is free and is also a good program. To tell the truth I dont know which I like the best...I suppose I find this one moreso in accuracy but it really cuts it close...Anyway just see for yourself...btw the moons do show up just fine and the the old settings of your prior will save if you allow the permissions ( it is heavily advised to allow the permissions for just in case you might need the old skins etc. )...Well anyway this is in appreciation for such a well made program, I'm very well pleased.

reinstalled my previous copy - maps and moon phases back.

I have been using WW for about 3 years. Never had I had a problem that Mike wouldn't help with. He's an excellent programmer, plus Weather Watcher is one of the best weather programs I've used. It provides very accurate weather readings, even here in Alberta, Canada. I have compared its reports to Environment Canada's Official weather site and let me tell you that WW is 99.99999% 'right on', every time! For a FREE program, you can't get any better! It uses very little resources to run in your system tray & is very easy to configure.

I agree that this is my software of choice for keeping up-to-date w/ the weather. I have used this for almost a year now and I am still quite satisfied in using this over alternatives. As others have said, it is updated frequently, and the work on the new spinoff program I read about last week does seem appealing. As you can see from his own response here, Mike is right there to help users with concerns they have. This isn't some program made by a big company where support is flaky and you can't get a response. Happy to give this a 5; keep up the good work.

-------------------------------------------------
I give this software the highest rating considering any number of factors, not the least of which it is free (you can make a donation), there are no ads, it is updated frequently and not the least of which is that the developer of the software responds readily to criticism and suggestions. Saying the software was kinda lame is both an injustice to Mike Singer and the software, in my opinion. It's the best out there, bar none.

ScottDe, unfortunately, TWC does not have any live weather stations. I am currently working on "Weather Watcher Live". It provides me with accurate data, verifiable by independent means, even though I live 25 miles from the nearest metropolitan airport/ weather station. But, I do live less than 3 miles from the closest Doppler radar system.

I'm not sure if i can follow Bigspud's critizism?
Some years ago, my wife lived in moscow, was there during the winter, and all the russian weather stations said it was going to snow, -5 or something, while the weather watched said:"nope, +3 no snow" my father in law told me it's wrong, it cannot be + in russia during the winter, guess the temp on the next day!

We now live in germany, at the NL border, I pretty much check the weather every 3 or 4 hours, i also listen to the radio forecasts from german local radios, dutch and belgium radios which are on the ether in this area, none of them is as accurate as weather watcher.

Of course weather watcher isn't making the weather, and just visualize the weather as it's written on their supplier database, but it's any way more accurate then european meteorologic institutes!

(Sometimes, even one site can give conflicting results. As just one example, I get different data from Weather.com if I locate my city by ZIP code than I do if I enter the city name. The data isn't wildly different, but sometimes the temps and/or humidity levels disagree by 3-10 points.) As for the price of the TLB plugin, who cares? It doesn't make sense to grade on a curve for price.

Weather Watcher is stil 100% spyware-free/adware-free. There is a second bundle setup that is also spyware-free. The bundle setup is optional, and it was only meant to be downloaded by those people who wish to discover some great deals and support Weather Watcher while doing so.

I think it's great that you want to voice your opinion about Weather Watcher. However, please make sure what you say is factual, rather than past experiences of other companies who bundled software.

-------------------------

Thost, it doesn't seem very fair that you are going to knock your review down a few notches because of something I offer on another website. All of the Weather Watcher downloads links (including the one on this site) point to the same adware-free, spyware-free setup that they have always pointed to.

It's really not fair for you to post a bogus review and assume I will do the same thing that a lot of other shady companies have done in the past. Shame on you.

Nogard

Nogard reviewed v5.6.1 on Nov 9, 2005

LOL OK I just went to singers site and notice there are 2 version of Weather Watcher. Theres one with spyware/adware and one with out (so they claim). I don't mind the program bundling but when they claim it's spyware free adware it BS. Did weather bug take over the making weather watcher? Now theres on 1 true free adware and spywarefree and that's Weather Pulse. Sorry, nice program gone bad.

I love this program! Though I also use forecast fox, it's nice to have the data available without having an open browser window.

ZenWarrior

ZenWarrior reviewed v5.6.1 on Nov 9, 2005

I love this program and will score it on its previous performance. That performance has been exceptional. However, at least for me, the newest version simply does not work. It chokes when attempting to retrieve forecasts and seems to have display problem of some sort on my computer. (I say this only in case others experience the same.)

I've gone back to a previous release, v5.6 beta 11, which although is not this most current version, still deserves a top score--simply because it simply works, even still. (But I sure wish this newest version worked for me. It's beautiful and has some nice new features.)

Hi Mike,

thanks for this lovely tool, looks even better now!

Only one tiny request for the next update: please change the behaviour of the tray icon - it's lovely that I can click it to open WW but I'd love to be able to click it again to minimize WW back to the tray (so that I could take a peek and close it seconds later back to the tray without having to move the mouse)!

Many other apps allow this too, it would be great if WW could too.

Thanks again!

Simply the best weather program out there. I've been using it for a couple of years and it works like a charm. I'm not sure why it's being updated (because it has everything I need/want), but I'm sure it's a good thing.

As for Pixelv2's comment, please write a better program and perhaps I'll start using it. Until then, review the program, and not what you're jealous of.

Very nice program. They fixed the "Server not found" problem I had with the last version. And this is so much faster than going to Weather.com, especially when I want to jump from general info to hourly forecasts to 10-day outlook. I guess Weather.com's advertising is what is clogging up my 56k connection.

http://www.singerscreati.../topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=662

You can download the new download method here:
http://www.singerscreati.../topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=677

The current download method works, but some user system settings get in the way of the download process. The new download process should do the job with less tweaking needed.

When installing 5.6 Beta 5, you might have to reset your wallpaper options, as some of them have changed. All of the wallpaper options have been moved to the "Wallpaper" section of the Weather Watcher Options.

Raven Sati, Weather Watcher is highly customizable. It's apparent that you've overlooked some of the options, such as displaying the forecast data in both F and C. Feel free to e-mail me at Mike@SingersCreations.com if you need any help configuring the Weather Watcher options.

I'm not sure what you mean by "make something unique". Weather Watcher has been around for 6+ years now.

kprovance, it's quite amazing how your posts never talk about the specifics in Weather Watcher. You always end up posting just to talk about this great thing that you're working on... when it's finished (of course).

8189720

8189720 reviewed v5.6 Beta 3 on Jan 21, 2005

Raven, the program already displays the temperatures in both, Fahrenheit, and Celsius. I have no clue what the hell you are talking about if you can't make it do that on your own (use the settings). Your other two points are useless gibberish. You critisize the author of the program, and not the program itself, which you are supposed to review here. (How many unique things have you done?)

Having said that, the program is excellent, the support is just as good and the program does everything it is supposed to do. No bugs in the latest stable release and I get my forecast easily, and well presented. Top-notch program.

Raven Sati

Raven Sati reviewed v5.6 Beta 3 on Jan 20, 2005

Mike - here's a few constructive thoughts with your requested explanations:

make the temperatures show simultaneously in fahrenheit and celsius - for those of us who are still trying to learn the equivalents in the opposite system

chill on your alarm response to criticisms and think over what they could mean on your own - you'll live longer and your hippocampus will not shrink

make something unique - I think you can figure out the reson for this

Have to rate it a 3 (Nice Windows Native Interface gets it points, perhaps an option for a more weather1/weatherbug interface (as this is what most weather programs lack, an option to select whether you want a totally graphical and in your face interface (such as weather1/weatherbug), or a basic windows native form as it has now (I Personally use the native, but for other users))) since it doesnt even update the weather info for me. I've made sure no proxy is selected in options, but still no dice.

kprovance -- I feel the Weather Watcher 5.6 Beta has added a lot to the current version of Weather Watcher. There are many new features, and just a lot of features in general that you will not find in any other freeweare weather software.

If anyone has constructive criticism, it would be great if you could e-mail it to me at Mike@SingersCreations.com. "Nothing special", "Cute program, but useless", and "I dislike the interface, for a variety of reasons" are pretty much useless comments since they have no explanation. I have tried Weatherbug Plus,WeatherPulse and a few others and Weather Watcher works the best and has the most (options)! And it gets new weather updates very quick. Ha! A low rating because of something on a webpage? Odd.

Only one source of weather info? So? Is the temperature, etc. different when gotten from different sites? The forecast? I only need one source of weather data and this app gets it then displays it best of any of the weather apps I've tried. Which is most of them.

As for a plugin for True Launch Bar, um, the price is slightly higher, don't you think?

Nope, I'll stand by my rating for this, a solid 5.

httpd.confused

httpd.confused reviewed v5.6 Beta 2 on Dec 18, 2004

I dislike the interface, for a variety of reasons, as well as the fact that it supports only one source for weather information. (The damnable snowflake JavaScript he has on his home page, which makes Opera devour ~50% of CPU time on my system, tells you how much he truly cares about interfaces.)

I find the weather plugin for True Launch Bar to be superior in many ways.
