Publisher's Description

WinCatalog is a powerful program for cataloging and organizing disks, folders and files. It is based on SQLite database, so it works fast with any number of files.

WinCatalog creates a catalog of files while scanning disks and extracts specific data like basic info and thumbnails for images, photos, videos, e-books and PDF files, contents of archive files, EXIF tags for photos, ID3 tags for music files, etc. You can organize a catalog of files, using tags and virtual folders. Advanced search algorithm allows to find files in seconds without connecting disks to a computer. WinCatalog search is very effective in finding duplicates.

Pretty nice, but there are many good alternatives. I'd bet locate32 is faster than this and cathy. Other shareware options can index inside archives and iso files like EF Catalog or Whereisit.

I use CATHY all the time. Free, basic, & fast. This one is so-so. Only problem I have with CATHY is that as far as I can tell, there is no way to search across databases. IE, each CD you catalog gets saved to a different file. BUT, my use of CATHY is for HD cataloging. For that alone it's worth the $0 price. And it's FAST -- example: cataloged 140 GIGS of media files in under 3 min. Try to beat that!

DUMB people...:-p USE CATHY !!!!!!!!!!!
http://rvas.webzdarma.cz/
and its FREEEEEEEEE and more powerful than any other cataloger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its An extremly small, very fast and easy to use media cataloging tool. You can use it to index files stored on removable media (CD-ROMs, LS120, Iomega Zip and Jaz disks, or even diskettes), hard disks or net drives, and create searchable catalogs that can be used without having access to original media. Searching capabilities are based on file name, date and size. Additional features include filtering options, search duplicates or singles, customizable date format, etc. Found files can be opened (executed) or deleted directly, if they are present. Drag&drop support. Directory trees, MP3 album/song lists can be printed, disk space usage can be investigated. Single file executable, no install needed.
