Originally created by Michael Herf and further edited by Justin Frankel, this plug-in makes Winamp transparent in Windows 2000, allowing you to continue work while keep Winamp in the foreground. Winamp will become solid when clicked on, and fade back into pseudo-transparency when another window is clicked. This is a must-have plug-in for you millions of Winamp users out there. Source included.

I don't know why people can't get it through their thick a** heads. Transperancy is not possible on Windows 98, 95, or ME!! Stop asking for somthing that will never ever happen!!!

man most of us using winamp dont use win 2000 there should be one for win 98 as well

Hey, how do you use this plugin? I put it in the plugin directory but it doesn't show up in the options.

Actually, actually, actually (getting a jump on the next guy!) Some of us kill the tray icon because everyprogram and thier brother thinks its cewl to make a tray icon. I know if I didn't kill all the ones for the programs I use, I'd have like 15-20 up.
The memory saving, while minimal, is nice too.
Also, not sure if this works on 2k, but if you set winamp to have a standard taskbar place (with or without the systray icon) it will show up on the taskmanager.
I *think* the code that the winamp guys use to make winamp not use the taskbar inherently takes it out of the taskman also...

Erm, no - most people do not disable the system tray icon. Only geeks and people running on low RAM would feel the need to save the few Kb of memory it consumes.

You should have an icon in the system tray, over by the clock. On my system, one click opens WinAmp.

Cool. I use a little program called Transperizer that makes anything and everything transparent, so I don't find it too useful. It would be nice if WinAmp would show up on the task list. The pretty transparentness doesn't do any good if WinAmp is totally hidden. But it's a cool little program, and the source code is appreciated. (bobad@mindspring.com)

very nice and it doesnt use much sys resources either :) i would like to be able to click behind winamp and i wish the whole of winamp faded and became block colour when you use 1 active window as i clicked playlist and the main window went faded again!

This little plugin is completely amazing. The way it fades in/out is remarkable. A must use for Winamp enthusiasts.
