cURL is a tool for transferring files with URL syntax, supporting FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, GOPHER, TELNET, DICT, FILE and LDAP. Curl supports HTTPS certificates, HTTP POST, HTTP PUT, FTP uploading, kerberos, HTTP form based upload, proxies, cookies, user+password authentication, file transfer resume, http proxy tunneling and a busload of other useful tricks.

cURL is the premiere cli download utility, it can with proper use download pretty much anything...including youtube videos.
I like the simplicity of wget, but without a doubt cURL is more feature rich and overall powerful. It is also built into php (plugin), this is probably the biggest single use of cURL.
I like it, I like wget, I like aria2c. I use them all and applaud the developers of each one. I throw the name of other cli download applications for reference, otherwise how would you rate it if you had never used the competition :)
Five well earned stars.....It is that good, really.

You're forgetting that cURL is not only a commandline application, but also a powerful libcurl library that is perfect for making web content accessible for your application.
I've used both libsoup and libcurl and i find libcurl to be significantly less buggy.

Use firefox with the Add-on 'Greasemonkey' and get the userscript 'YouTube to me'

Can I use this program to grab flash movies off other websites?
