Awesome! I love miniaim because of it's size and processes. Don't expect more to be added! It's fast and small period! If you want stuff/addons other then simple communication like miniaim then it is not for you. Pure genius! Thanks!

This is a nice little app. It will be nice to see this app become a nice, lightweight client.

unistyle & acepuppy: if you run on a labtop, you will want tht extra 20mb...like i do and mines is less than a yr old, running on 512mb.Yes this program gives what people really need, to IM others.

tasty: maybe it's time you upgrade your pc if you are still worrying about 20mb of ram taken up by aim.. if you aren't running at least a gig by now, freakin upgrade.. ram is so cheap nowadays and the gains are worth it. so if you are running a gig of ram, you are complaining about an application using .02%?! now i know thats a big number to you, but i think you might be alright having the other .98% of your 1gig of ram leftover. just thank god it isn't .06%!!!

Deadaim is useless ? Maybe when you use miranda or gaim . Then maybe .

The official AIM client uses the same amount of resources regardless of the computer it is running on. Whether you notice it or not is irrelevant. An instant messenger program should not consume over 20MB of RAM in any case. Older official AIM clients with identical functionality used less memory, thus the modern versions are bloated, not to mention the silent inclusion of third party software.

I dont care if this program is new or not.. its lacking alot of features.. and for those who say this uses no resources.. AIM really uses no resources.. if you have a computer that is no older than 2yrs.. AIM will not use any noticable features.. this program will become useless just like Deadaim became.

This program gets a 5, it stips down AIM to the very basic, meanwhile it uses hardly any resources and has no ads. You dont like AIM or Trillian and want to chat on Aol Instant Messaging service? This is your program.

Even better with the new release.

For those wanting to delete "fakeusername":

Under File\Preferences\General, there's a check box labeled, "Don't Add 'miniaim creator' to my buddy list"

I've only just downloaded this, so I haven't had a chance to really use it yet, since AIM is not something I use often, so this seems like a nice minimalistic substitute.

Would be nice if the author could add auto login, but it's nothing I can't live without.

*EDIT*
I just found the auto login feature under "General".

This thing is just nice. It has the features I want and only that. Small download and very smal resource requirement. Great all around.

I updated this about 4 1/2 hours ago, good to see betanews posted it.

The new features were really needed, while only adding about 5k to the applications download size, amazing!

I introduced this to some unfortunate friends of mine who thought AIM was the only way to go, and use the AOL internet service.
I showed them this, they said it was easier to use and they now love it!

The uTorrent of instant messaging: Miniaim.

mynamehere,
you can autologin on startup, if you took the time to look in the general options on the preferences menu you would have found this.
Checking "Saving password when saving options", and "Auto-login on load".
The feature has actually been there for awhile.

Awesome alternative AIM client, has all the features you need and none that you don't. I can't wait to see how this develops.

If you want to get "fakeusername" off your buddy list, just put him on your block list (no disrespect to the creator, of course, even I feel kind of rude circumventing this)

Wow, I love this.
Very awesome and works quite well.
The GUI is simple yet effective.
The ONLY thing I dont like is the fact that it adds that 1 buddy everytime you sign on.

Keep it up, Ill be watching this!

Well, it works, and it's tiny. That seems to be enough for uTorrent fans.

I use lots of other protocols too though, such as Jabber, so won't be using this just yet.
