I have been using this app for years. Never had any problem, and it works quite well. I would like there to be a better UI or better skinning, but that's not worth even judging them on. I prefer an app to work well over the UI. And this app works well.

Pros: Runs with pretty light resources
Easy to use

Cons: UI looks dated
Skins are limited.

Bottom Line: I have been using this app for years. Never had any problem, and it works quite well. I would like there to be a better UI or better skinning, but that's not worth even judging them on. I prefer an app to work well over the UI. And this app works well.

Simply The Best!! Better then ALL the REST!

@CyberDoc999: Clearly you haven't used it because there is no comparison between the two, especially with performance.

By far the best torrent client available. Fast and clean.

With a little tweaking, it frequently goes up to 80 MB/s on my gigabit connection. As you can see, zero overloads, even at these speeds.

## qBittorrent compared to µTorrent

qBittorrent is better because

* torrent list filter (i.o.w. search)
* bulk move torrents (select multiple torrents > "Set location")

## qBittorrent compared to Deluge

qBittorrent is better because

* all code is in 1 file (rather than more than 1 .py files). This makes it easier to change to a new version manually

Not bad bad I still think uTorrent is better. I hope this program improves because I love the thought of an open-source bittorrent client.

I've been tinkering with qbit for a couple years now but it wasn't until the last release that it's become the only torrent client I need.

It's everything uTorrent used to be. Very easy to add magnetic links too. Only annoyance is that I have to manually start downloads even after they've been added

Simple, effective, small footprint. Been using it on my Windows 7 netbook (1.66GHz, 1GB ram) never had an issue. I can use my netbook as if qbittorrent wasn't even running. Now i'm going to unload bloated PIA Vuse and install it on my desktop too.

I tried to find a good replacement for utorrent and I almost gave up but I gave this app a try and I'm happy I did: my search it is over now and I'm a believer again!

I downloaded 3.1 alpha with no install for Win7-x64 and tested and worked at least as good as utorrent, it has all the features I want in it.
Well almost, except for the ability to run as "portable" - because it creates the ini files under current user's documents and settings. Hopefully this will be addressed in the future versions.

Still great on both Win7 64bit and Linux!

@ HeilNizar: How the hell can you review a program you haven't even tried? Besides, get your facts straight: there's a portable version of the program available from PortableApps.com (http://portableapps.com/apps).

Lear how to google you dumb@ss.
Guess I'm wasting my breath/typing on some imbecile teen fanboy...

-Not portable, can't test it, therefor 0 stars.

@johnk119

Why does it have to be superior? It's nice, it works, and it's natively available under Linux, MacOS X and other OSes, while utorrent works only under Windows.

As for privacy - its source code is available and there's nothing wrong with it as thousands of people including me use this program every day. qbittorrent doesn't phone home, it doesn't collect and send any stats anywhere.

Works perfectly for me.

Have been using this program for months now, no problems at all so far. I switched from uTorrent to this one due to uTorrent's negative development direction, and I don't regret it for a second. Handles torrents and magnetlinks with no issues.

Have tried Tixati, but it offered nothing over this one. Fanboys: please chill, eat some fruit & boil an egg; then write a serious review of programs you actually use.

Great download speed, nice, clean interface, open source, and active development. Excellent!

asaenz reviewed v2.9.7 on Apr 17, 2012

Installed and ran recent version (2.9.7) and it crashed soon, within 10 minutes. Did it twice and I guess it is unreliable for now. Been using Tixati successfully for several months now. I might try again after fresh reboot to clear memory but it should be more robust since none of my other programs are having problems. Also, have sent author email and have received no response.

Uriel

Uriel reviewed v2.9.7 on Apr 16, 2012

Use Tixati. Tixati just came out with 64 bit edition and I downloaded 1.8 gig file in 20 minutes flat with it.

Blaxima

Blaxima reviewed v2.9.5 on Mar 12, 2012

This is going to be the real utorrent replacement though it's not quite there yet. It has a relatively familiar interface with modern improvements to the version of utorrent I'm currently using 1.82(everything after that has rubbish). I find that it's performance needs some tweaking

Tixati on the other hand, well, I think it's becoming quite clear that when posters/zealots are rating something poorly and their only comment is to use program A instead, it's usually not worth the paper I wiped my a** with. Unless you like cumbersome performance, then by all means, knock yourself out

Morpheus

Morpheus reviewed v2.9.5 on Mar 10, 2012

I had a few problems, speed deteriorates over time, on large files. Seems ho hang at times. Still BETA, so it's getting there. Went back to uTorrent, and using Tixati as a backup. Been using both for years, I still find uTorrent #1, after years of use and keeping with STABLE releases.

HeilNizar

HeilNizar reviewed v2.9.2 on Jan 31, 2012

Downloaded today's release and it worked fairly well ... completed a small program download (87 MB).
Update: been using for about a week ... so far it works fairly well ... ETA doesn't always update like it should.

I just downloaded it and installed it without any major difficulties and it seems to be downloading at a decent rate without adversely affecting my overall system performance which is good. I'll add it to my programs to monitor and try to return in the future and give more feedback but nice so far.

Now about 30 minutes later and I've noticed that it doesn't seem to be uploading and I'm afraid that might be limiting my download speed.

Roughly an hour later and my download speed was poor and never saw the upload speed go above 0. I checked all the settings and couldn't find anything obviously wrong and used a router port I normally reserve for uTorrent so don't know what else to do. I'm currently able to use 2 other torrent clients with acceptable performance.

I hope I will be able to make use of a future version but I can't justify using this one when I get much better speeds from my other 2 clients.

Okay I downloaded an older (stable) version and was able to upload so might be a problem with this beta.

Sometimes I have to exit the program and reload it for the download to begin.

Couple of hours later now and I had to give up on it and use another client to finish my downloads.
