  1. Review - TeamViewer

    11.0.56083 (Mar 10, 2016)

The functionality and effortlessness of this program are unmatched; I'd been using it as a KVM for my home network for years, and it "just works." (and very well, I might add). But with version 11 they've introduced a timeout disconnecting my machines from one another every three hours, forcing regular re-logons. Until that's removed, TeamViewer -- otherwise a perfect program -- is only worth a "2" in my book.

  2. Review - Hamachi for Windows (May 14, 2014)

Progressively crippled by the company that bought it and promised not to change it.

  3. Review - Tonido for Windows (Apr 1, 2013)

The interface could be better, and I wish it were capable of streaming MP4 audio, but it works as advertised and works well.

  4. Review - Hamachi for Windows (Feb 9, 2012)

Functionality is still good, but LogMeIn recently reduced the number of members that can belong to a network from 16 to 8 without "upgrading" to the non-free version. When the company was sold to LogMeIn, Hamachi creator Andy Pankrat provided assurances that the free service would continue undiminished. This is no longer the case.

Worse, pricing on the paid model has changed from a one-time fee for the software to an annual subscription depending on the number of members in your network.

  5. Review - Hamachi for Windows (May 31, 2011)

Not sure why someone would downgrade this app to one star even if they do like NeoRouter better. Hamachi does what it says, and does it well.

  6. Comment - Microsoft postpones live VM migration for Hyper-V two more years (Sep 9, 2008 - 12:41 PM)

Is BetaNews down? I haven't seen any new software updates for days.
