If anyone is using Samurize, MAKE SURE to checkout uziq's "pagescraper". This makes Samurize worth having BY ITSELF!

Great application. Mega flexible and it really does make your desktop look "cool".

The only thing I'd like is for the program to be updated more often. I mean, the update before this was like months ago. Other than that, simply great.

The best just keep getting better. This is a must have. Once you learn the editor, there is nothing you can not do with this. I used it to monitor all my PCs, display useful information, and for general peace of mind. Freeware projects such as this deserve our support. Toss them a few dollars on the donate button and feel good about helping a great project continue.

very nice program indeed, for the power user and someboady that has a fast machine with alot of ram, the little testing that I did based on prosscess. my machine is to slow to add more I curently run 18 proscess, and after adding a few meters brought me to 20, so I had to uninstall program, need speed not looks. But does what it says very well not for the gammer user.

best of its kind, by far!

samurize has come a long way and i can't see myself without it... also to those who don't think its easy to use i find the config editor a lot more intuitive than coolmon for instance. also the website is full of useful info as are the forums and with so many ready configs out there its easy to change something around to suit your needs... just awesome i'd give it 10 stars if i could! :)

Best of its kind by far!

I currently use it to check the services running on my server and checking my mail :-)

If anyone knows how to (if its possible) have a picture show up when mail arrives and play a "you've got mail" audio clip when mail arrives please let me know :-) That would be pretty cool.

Samurize is very, very powerful.

Its editor is not easy to use though, despite what people say. You largely need to already have some good programming and scripting chops to get it to do what you want, including configuring a lot of the downloadable addons and modules. And documentation is sketchy -- both provided and online. There are a lot of assumptions made that the user already knows certain things.

If you really know what you're doing, it's for you. It's very powerful, versatile, and can do a whole lot. If you don't though, you're better off sticking to something like DesktopSidebar or Rainmeter or something, because you'll only find frustration with trying to figure out Samurize. And for that reason I can only give it a 4.

Awesome program... just plain AWESOME!
The Editor is so easy to use and there is a wealth of plugins at the website. The forums there are also really useful for resolving any problems with your config. The best thing about this is despite the full-featured functionality and available eyecandy it is still small and won't slow down your system.

This is my first time using this software, I liked it, it takes far less to design your own or modify exsiting config than any other meters like sysmetrix of rainmeter. I am stuck on the callendar plugins.
The only thing it would be nice if have the feature to start another samurize by just choosing it from the menu. Just like rainmeter.
I will give it five for the simplicity and power at the same time..

I have been associated with Samurize for over a year now, and I must say that this little gem of a program has evolved into something very special. Not only has NeM taken the program to new levels, but the crew is outstanding, and the community is one of the best on the none....

I first started using Samurize a year or so ago, when it was at 0.60 or somesuch. Even back then, it was an awesome application. Now, at 1.55, it has evolved into something even better and the screenshots section of speaks as evidence of this.

I have no problems giving this app 5/5. It's just that good.

I'm not much of a "Status Bar" type person, but I must say that Samurize is everything that you could ask for in a stats bar application.

The cherry on the top is its scripting functionality: Write a windows script in VB, cant it in a *.vbs file, then create a custom little visual things and choose the input as the return value of a function in your script. Awsome stuff :)

Only 4 for me though. I didnt some of the UI's to be the best I've seen ;)

Thanks to felttippin, urbanriot and the rest of you for the very kind words. I am one of the founders and original programmers for samurize, since a year back NeM is doing a superb job improving the little app. felttippin, thanks for the donation, you are a direct reasons that the program is still alive. The bandwidth speedup is thanks to (believe it or not) stardock, who is now hosting our webpage for free. If it wouldn't for theese guys i'm not sure the project would still be continued. Anyways. Just want to thanks for all the kind words, you guys are the reason that the samurize-crew still working hard.

Great program. I use it all the time. It uses a very low amount of resources, very fast, HIGHLY customizable. I use it EVERY day. Takes a little tweaking for your personal preferences. Awesome program! If you find a bug, they fix it FAST!

As for the bad post, the site is twice as fast in Mozilla than it is in IE for me. I have downloaded it using Mozilla, and it worked fine. It does get a a TON of traffic. They must have recently updated the site's bandwidth. Good to see my paypal donation at work.

Wow, I can't believe some retard rated this program a lousy score because he can't download in a buggy browser.

This program f'n rocks, and the sky is the limit with what you can do once you get the hang of the scripting... plenty of downloadable pre-made scripts on the web site.

Errr you're giving the program a bad review because Mozilla can't handle downloading via PHP redirects?

We have to take measures such as these to prevent people hotlinking to our files - consumes an awful lot of bandwidth, which we have to watch to monitor to keep our free host happy.

This is simply an amazing program.
It now comes with a very basic config file for you to start playing with, and has a fully functional installer. With the recently added taskbar support, there is simply no other program out there that can compete with Samurize. And yes, you can now download other people's configurations and use them on your machine. Can life get any better? I submit that it cannot!

This is a pretty amazing program.
The gigantic versatility of samurize is impressive, from just about ANY system information, to weather, TV programming, calendars, news, program control, game server chek, you might want and I even suspect this critter does come with the kichten sink! Most programs out there do not have half the power of Samurize and are paid for, this program has been and ramins FREE, I do encourage those who can to hit the donation button on the website, it is well worth it. It consumes very little system ressources, you can have it a simple desktop interface or as elaborated as you want. You can also have it run on your windows taskbar, I am not sure there is more that could be asked for. Support is, also, excelent, the people i the website forum go to great lenght to help those who need and most will share their scripts and configs which is not ususal and greatly apreciated.
Give it a try, if you need only your CPU temp showing, or dozens of other at the same time, you will love this program. Power, versatility, design Samurize got it all.

RedBadger> I'm sorry you haven't been able to set up the program. But here's a quick step-by-step: ---1. The program doesn't need an installer, just unzip the files you downloaded. ---2. Start config.exe ---3. Click the "Add Meter"-button and select a meter. ---4. Repeat step 3 until your satisfied. ---5. Save your config in the Configs-folder ---6. Start Client.exe, click the SysTray-icon and select your config. --- Btw, there's a tutorial at: check it out. It's written by one of our CrewMembers. I agree Samurize can seem a bit scary at first sight, but give a try and you'll get a hang of it. :) (Damn, i wish i could post without voting)

I'm rating this a one because it comes with NO installer, and doesn't work when I try running either .exe file, and there are no instructions for even installing it, all it tells you is how to uninstall it.

The graphic screens I have seen look real nice, but until I can figure this stupid thing out (which I shouldn't have to be doing) it gets a one rating.

Word from the authors: Please remember that this is only a technical preview of Serious Samurize. The debuging code hasn't been removed and all optimizations hasn't been done. Bugs can and will exist in this version, which we released mainly to let people get a feel of the new Config-program, perhaps make some cool skins and to let us, the authors, be able to remove all major bugs quickly.

You can use it in conjunction with other programs such as Adobe Photoshop to make really neat stuff, but Stylebuilder is not a mature applicaton yet.
