Publisher's Description
Intel Processor Frequency ID Utility was developed by Intel Corporation to enable consumers with the ability to identify and, in some circumstances, determine if their Intel processor is operating at the correct and rated frequency intended by Intel Corporation. Beginning with the Pentium processor, this utility provides consumers with the ability to determine standard CPU identification of Intel processors. In addition, begining with the Pentium III processor, the Frequency Test Tab of the utility can also help determine if a processor has been overclocked.

Well It didn't work on my P4 processor as someone mentioned earlier. Too bad that was not clearly stated before it was installed.
Even worse, when I tried to upgrade it, it told me that I hade no WebBrowser in my computer, which I do have. I run Firefox as the default Browser. It is set as deafult using the built in systemtool "Set Program Access and Default"
Since Intel can't handle standard built in systemfunctions I can't rate this more than a "1".
What else of the built in systmefunctions is this program incapable of handling, I wonder...

Well, it works, but I don't know what use it could be when there are far better utilities like CPU-Z.

It should be stated that this program is only for P III and lower cpu's.

Well it’s apparent this application does function and does what it states it does.
Now… If I could find someone to help me over-clock a few Compaq Desk Pro 450MHz P3’s, machines that I have just collecting dust it would be a good thing… “hint” I am looking for help: If you can // or are // willing to help me, please email me at: backup@yahoo.com

Uses a couple large bitmaps and comes with an installer ... that's what takes up the 900Kb

Why are you guys complaining over 841k? With the prices of hard drives and the like, 841k seems dismal. Just my two cents.

supicious? comon there useing 24bit bitmaps in the program! uncompressed! that alone will take up 600K for the images they have on that lil program...

I agree with Bob Adkins, this program seems awfully large for what it does. Since I have a Celeron 300A, the frequency test doesn't work for my CPU. As large as the program is, I'm surprised it can only frequency test PIII and above.

The program installed uneventfully, but required 841K of disk space. That's pretty big for such a simple utility. It makes one wonder. I launched it, and it accurately reported my Intel Pentium III 500 Mhz was overclocked to 560, with an FSB of 112 Mhz. Wonder what sneaky rat did that? :)
