I got a special version for Dell Notebooks on the offical Homepage. Works perfect!

The best free CPU controller and cooler that I have tested. Stable machine even at CPU 6X 0.9500 volts. Runs cooler, both CPU and hard disk. Works faultlessly on Vista home premium.

Works fairly well. However you may want to go to the Author's page if you have a Dell system he has a hotfix version there

applez33: if used correctly, you definately ARE able to configure your notebook to run silent and cool. Or, if performance is an issue (as is for me while programming/compiling), to run as fast as possible without clocking down too often.
5 stars from me, NHC works perfectly.

When I upgraded to Notebook Hardware Control from the original Centrino Hardware Control, it made my laptop overall run about 10 degrees hotter than it used to. When I run apps, my computer would often get burning hot and start the shut down sequence, one of the features of NHC. Never had this happened when I used CHC, and I don't want to keep being interuppted every 10 minutes that my computer is getting too hot and it needs to shut down. The point of using NHC is so that my computer WON'T get too hot. Needless to say, I switched to RightMark, and I am amazed at how cool and quiet my laptop is now.

Pretty nice for what it delivers, but only use this if you know what you're doing and get into the thick of things when managing things on your laptop.
One word of caution: For Vista beta testers:
DO NOT INSTALL THIS ON WINDOWS VISTA!!!
Your system WILL crash. You can recover, but why go with the hassle. You've been warned

A well done program for my new laptop. I couldn't find any other program that came close.

This is decent and well done.

Very nice program. GUI is excellent - layout, alpha, icons. Loads of information and features - all configurable. Performance is excellent. Everything works perfectly.
Chikushou reviewed v2.0 Pre-Release-02 on Aug 1, 2006
While the concept seems nice, installing this completely destroyed my system performance, particularly in 3D games. Uninstalling it didn't fix anything, nor did a registry back-up.

very useful -- especially whenever my battery indicator on the taskbar disappears for no reason whatsoever. it also shows battery wear, temperature, current processor speed, and a lot more.
every serious computer user -- the people who will need this program -- already has .net 2.0. those who don't, oh well....
jafo818 reviewed v2.0 Pre-Release-02 on Aug 1, 2006
So far this is pretty cool... Lots of options, highly customizable... Works great with my IBM T40p.

People complaining about NHC's use of .NET need to grow up. This is a wonderful, day I say requisite, utility for anyone using a Centrino-based notebook.
apankrat reviewed v1.10 Beta 03 on Jun 17, 2006
Looks like a very useful utility. But .net dependency is a showstopper that renders its virtually unusable. Hense the rating.
SorenMD reviewed v1.10 Beta 03 on Apr 27, 2006
Get rid of the need to install Microsoft .NET framework and I will give it a good score.
tangentlin reviewed v1.10 Beta 02 on Mar 22, 2006
I just had it installed on my new Toshiba Portege M400 tablet PC, and I got a blue screen to death error upon installation completion.
redge reviewed v1.10 Beta 02 on Mar 22, 2006
I don't want try it until software remove the need of .net
because you can compile without need any dependency
but there a good idea, waiting new beta compiled without need .net
ibear reviewed v1.10 Beta 02 on Mar 21, 2006
great program. a must have if you want a quiet computer. it can control fan speed and harddrive noise. also have many other greate functions.
mo_mo reviewed v1.10 Beta 02 on Mar 21, 2006
overall i like the program alot
but just two things i don't like
it requires .NET plus it slows down your laptop
gmartau reviewed v1.9 Beta 02 on Sep 29, 2005
CONS: Requires .NET. This means SLOW and more than 20M B RAM used all the time. I think this is too much for a tray application.
PRO: It can reduce also the ATI Graphic Card clock to conserve power(I couldn't tested this without ATI Card). Make short tests too see if the hardware tweak works.
CHECK ALSO: RightMark CPU Clock Utility (this I use now): http://cpu.rightmark.org/
utomo reviewed v1.9 Beta 02 on Jun 24, 2005
Better if they can create version for other processor too, such as P4 and also AMD.
more people will use it.

A must have for Centrino user!
mo_mo reviewed v1.9 Beta 02 on Jun 23, 2005
i have a centrino laptop
this is an awesome program
my laptop much much cooler after i install the software and set a few setting :D
now i just have to test out the battery setting
pipdipchip reviewed v1.9 Beta 02 on Jun 22, 2005
What a great program. I don't see how a Centrino user couldn't at least try this program. It's really great for those who want to get the most battery life out of their laptop. It also provides some useful information. Like how much of your battery is remaining (not charge but the battery itself). A must try for Centrino. Clean UI, Fast, and easy to use.
shizo reviewed v1.9 Beta 02 on Jun 22, 2005
I never wrote a review until today. "Centrino Hardware Control" is the best Centrino related software, i have seen until today! Awesome program and a must for everyone with a Centrino notebook!
Thumbs up!
skonrad reviewed v1.9 Beta 02 on Jun 22, 2005
Awesome program, works like a champ on my Toshiba Satellite (it's a P4-M, so you don't need a Centrino to use the program, although you cannot control the voltages in detail on a P4-M as you can on a P-M). It unifies all the things I needed seperate programs or Toshiba tools for so far: Setting power management of CPU, showing temperatures, reading HD SMART, setting HD power management, etc.
