Podmailing seems better than Pando, as it allows your recipient to use any bittorrent client or web browser to download the file.

v1.0 is heavy: 20 MB ram + 12 MB vm, to compare with µTorrent: 5 MB ram + 2 MB vm.
µTorrent has more features and works very nicely, I wish they'd make their software that efficient...
Also: the close button doesn't work, it's annoying.

Otherwise, the service works nicely, got ~ 130KB/s -sourcing from their server only- on a week day @ 9am UTC.

Siempre lo mismo "Internal Error 1753. Pando.exe". Hace un año estoy tratando de todas las formas posibles. También entré en el foro de Pando y este es un problema al que los creadores del programa no le encuentran solución. Saludos y gracias.

@pegasus2:
Transferring files over 100MB with standard file transfer services (megashares, sendover, etc) is not very reliable: it often fails in the middle of the transfer.
This solutions seems more robust: it uses a bittorrent protocol, and their also server works as a source for 14 days.

Grow up zee7! This is not a forum to attack reviewers, or anybody for that matter.

Tried & tested this. Sent them some queries and they didn't even bother to reply.

Their servers are at times extremely slow. Just look at the complaints on their forum. You will be surprised!

Pegasus2, don't rate something unless you've tried it. Nobody cares about your opinion on whether this is a necessary app or not. It does what it claims to do and does it well. That's what matters.

I really don't see the point of this program. There's about 50 free file hosting services on the Net that I can think of that does the same, sending the links by e-mail for downloading etc, and that you can use without the need for having a program.

Looks interesting, the mayor problem about the transfer is that if you cant control the firewall or one of your recipients cant configure the firewall then the app is dead XD, well, I like it a lot, lets see how will develop...

Works like a charm! Incredibly easy to set up, beautiful, clean interface, and oh-so simple to use. Pando is a winner! I can see this application really taking off once the word spreads. The only downside is that the beta limits users to sending files 1 GB or less, but that should be plenty for most user's purposes (and it's still very generous considering that most email limits are a wimpy 10 MB). If you're behind a firewall, you might have to configure it to allow Pando, but that's not a big deal. It took me less than 10 seconds to tweak mine.

Nice job, folks. I look forward to the final release. Hopefully the file size limits will be increased for people like me who work in multimedia.

From the FAQ.

Where do the files I send go?

Via a secure, end-to-end 128-bit encrypted transfer, your files are uploaded to our storage proxies (Pando servers), and an email is sent to your specified email recipients. As soon as they open the “.pando? files attached to the emails they get, the files are transferred to your recipients' computers simultaneously from your own computer and our storage proxies. No one, including us, has access to your encrypted files except for you and your intended email recipients. IMPORTANT NOTE: As with any email attachment, if your recipients forward packages to their friends, they will also be able to download your files. Please keep this in mind when emailing private files.

That's a great program but I couldn’t understand that where the files were stored.. I upload 600 mb file and it send 11 kb file to email. Then with this file we can download the big file but where I uploaded my file? Is it in a safe place? If pando stores all files in their server I want to know how long are my files hosted?

I can't say I've had a chance to make much use of it but I did give them one of my spam-trap emails and was invited to beta test the program.

It looks promising from what I have done so I'll give it a 3 for now.
