Rapid File Defragmentor is the fastest defragmentation program allowing you to defragment selected files and directories. Regular defragmentation increases the overall performance of your system dramatically. The key advantage is the ability to group files and folders into the profiles and defragment only selected profiles instead of the whole hard disk. Now you don't need to wait until your defragmentation program completes analyzing - defragment your files instantly.

NTREGOPT doesn't defrag files except the registry and it's main purpose is to defrag the registry hives *internally*. XP defrags the registry files automatically so they don't need to be defragged in the file system.

This app can be useful if you only need to defrag one file and don't want to process the entire drive. Another similar free app is Power Defragmenter which uses the Sysinternals defrag program. http://www.excessive-software.eu.tt/

ONLY file defragmention is NOT the optimalest solution, you need a complete defragmethod for a harddrive.
I use NTREGOPT, it's freeware (i make a donation) and it defrag files AND the registry.
Othertimes I use the student-version of OO-Defrag.
Here I can defrag with a lot of options.
I think, this is a better, effective solution for this...

Of course, it can not defragment the harddrive partition, but it is not a disk defragmenter - it's a file defragmenter. And it can defragment files VERY fast. I've been using it for 2 monthes and absolutely satisfied.
