Ahahah, so crap ! Just try : smartftp or filezilla. Both are the best ftp clients. Filezilla has a poor interface that's right, but it's really easy to use.

Poor programming and GUI. Also, "freeware" and "shareware" are two VERY VERY different things. Giving a free 30 day trial of your software doesn't make it freeware.

Only real noteable feature is the scripting. Under Windows, I prefer Bullet Proof FTP, and IglooFTP under Linux.

Wow, I have an idea, lets make an ftp program, try to make it look/function like CuteFTP, only fail miserably and end up with a mismatched jumble of ugly icons and windows!
