Virtualization Services and Technologies
(Virtualization) What is virtualization, what does it do? We can say that virtualization is used more efficiently by dividing a physical resource into multiple logical operations.
Virtualization services; It is a service that is effective in revealing the real performance of the servers and is provided with single hardware for multiple servers and services. Today, many servers work well below their real potential. This causes institutions and businesses to purchase new servers. Thus, although it does not need companies and institutions, it is known that it causes more servers to be included within a certain period. This situation naturally creates a working system that cannot be overcome and increases costs. However, thanks to the virtualization technologies of the servers, it is possible to reduce the said problems and prevent the companies from turning into a server dump.
Virtualization services enable servers to be virtualized, enabling them to run at much higher performance, as well as combining many physical servers with servers running virtually on a single server, and also allows you to physically save space.
What does virtualization do, the benefits of virtualization;
Unnecessary use of resources is prevented by using system resources at full capacity.
The server reduces the number of physical hardware in your room.
Energy, Cooling, etc. savings are achieved by reducing expenses.
Reduces hardware costs.
It provides flexibility by enabling the server to increase and decrease resources in a short time.
It also reduces personnel employment by providing ease of management.
It provides easy backup.
It provides business continuity.
Lowers maintenance, management, and operating costs.
VIRTUALIZATION
Virtualization: are solutions that convert physical resources into logical resources. This is my favorite definition. Because this concept does not have a single-use, it contains more than one definition.
To put it more concretely: a guest is the operation of one or more operating systems defined by sharing the resources of the same physical equipment.
Virtualization systems act as a layer between the hardware and the user so that the users cannot directly access the resources of the physical hardware. Virtualization systems are indispensable infrastructure systems of data centers that bring a different perspective on many issues such as installation, maintenance, flexibility, continuity, budget, and cost.
KERNEL
The kernel is the main core component of an operating system. It is the main foundation part of operating systems that determines many factors such as working architecture, logic, character, security, performance, and hardware compatibility.
Let's explain this kernel concept more concretely: Even if the applications running on the operating system want to do any operation, these transactions are first transmitted to our operating systems. Our operating system should forward this work to the drivers or physical hardware so that the process takes place. It transmits this through the kernel. And this process follows the same way to find the equivalent and return the output to us. We cannot select the Kernel architecture as end-users. They are selected by the person or institutions who will write the operating system and write their operating systems on the kernel they choose. In other words, we are running our operating system and applications in a layer far above this kernel level.
Although the end-user (guest) wants to take action, this process first transmits its operating system (GUEST OS). The process wants to point to the kernel of that operating system and forward it to the hardware by the kernel.
It transmits the request to the virtualization application to the main operating system it is on. The main operating system also transmits this request to its kernel, assuming it comes from the virtualization application. It transmits that process to the hardware by using the drivers in the kernel. And so the process is finished. Likewise, the process loops and follows the same paths and returns to the application on the virtualization environment.
