   It's been a while since I tried it again, and I'm glad to say that it changed for the best. Still small (3.7MB), portable, customisable, quick to play, still free, and largely strong enough to beat me up (but then I've never been a very good chess player). So it ticks all the right boxes, and I'm more then happy to give it top marks. Well done, keep on going that way!

   The game is free, plays quickly, has a nice library, and doesn't seem to play badly.
   However, when I try to install it, it wants to install to:
   C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Application Data
   Weird. So I had to manually point it to C:\Program Files
   I like portable software. This is small, consists of a few file, so I thought "great, I'll put it on my pen drive". If you do, it won't find the resources to display the pieces anymore :(
   I also wish pieces sets could be read/imported from BMPs or something to make it look nicer (in addition to solve the problem pointed above).
   Overall, quite good, except that the package is not too well designed in my opinion.
