Avi2Dvd is an all-in-one tool that converts avi/mkv/ogm with few clicks in a vcd/svcd/dvd. It uses only freeware tools and can handle varius freeware enconders (QuEnc/FreeEnc/NuEnc).

I tried this piece of crap way back when. What a joke. And the biggest joke is the high rating it gets just for being free. Good thing there is software available that actually works... And it's called ConvertXtoDVD.

Tried to load an mkv and get this:
"Access violation at address 00551178 in module Avi2Dvd.exe'. Read of address 00000000."
mkv is
720p
6ch AC3

Does not work with all aspect ratios, nor will it use 'normal' subs and therefore the sub option is worthless
Encoding is excellent when it does work.
TMPGEnc DVD Author (w/divx encoding) is much better but not free.

I tried it and it did not work. The log did not produce useful information about what went wrong. Are there other apps that can do this?
