CPU ID displays all the available information about your computers processor. The information given includes model number, processor family, cache size, clock speed, and manufacturer codename, plus much more. The information is obtained by querying the processor itself aswell as performing test on it. Some information displayed such as processor codename, transistor count, socket type and die size are listed from internal lookup tables. The program can be useful for determining what a computers is at a glance without having to physically look inside.

    This could prove a very useful tool for people who are continually upgrading. Parameters such as stepping rate etc should prove very useful when choosing a compatible CPU to upgrade to. I haven't tested it yet on an overclocked PC but it should prove interesting.

    So far so good.. Have yet to test it on non-Intel chips but already it is much better than the poor quality DOS-based programs I've seen that do the same thing, and much smaller than the Intel program that is out there. Also, no install program! Which is great! I hate having to install small applications that I only use once or twice per computer. Thanks for the great program! (Although a better icon would be nice :o)
