DVD43 is a free DVD decrypter that runs in the background and decrypts DVDs on the fly. It will decrypt (unlock) a movie DVD so that your copy program can read it. It is a pure decrypter, it does not alter the image of the original DVD and will not remove copy protection (other than CSS encryption) added to the DVD. If the DVD structure is non standard or the DVD contains bad sectors, your copy program needs to take care of that.

DVD43 is good as a freeware, but it ruins audio tracks of some of my DVD which is not well reserved, worse is, it can't aplly to all DVD CSS regin restriction.

Then I use this set of DVD ripping & authorzing tools --- DVD Ripper + Video Converter Pro to rip DVD and convert audio & video with amazing output quality; DVD Copy to decrypt the CSS region protection and copy DVD to ISO or backup DVD to another DVD Disc, DVD9 to DVD9, DVD5 to DVD5 and DVD5 to DVD9 without quality loss; DVD Creator to burn my own DVD by merging all kinds of my own audio & video files.

This DRM Media Converter is also in my reserve for removing authorize license and converting music video movie formats, for that DRM-protected .wma / .m4p / .wmv / .m4v / .asf and most other regular audio & video files like M4P, M4B, M4V, WMV, ASF, WMA, MP4, M4A, AVI (Divx/Xvid), MOV, 3GP, 3G2, CD.dat, DVD.vob, h.264, HD(.m2ts; .tp; .trp; .ts), HD(.mp4; .wmv; .asf; .mpg; .vob; .mov; avi), DV, NSV, NUT, RM, RMVB, FLV, FLAC, AIFF, SWF, MPG, MP3, AC3, OGG, APE, AAC, WAV, MKV, MKA, etc.; this Protected Music Converter does great job too.

I just installed DVD43 but when I rebooted it is telling me the driver is inactive or not installed properly. I had it installed before and it worked great but now all of the sudden it stopped working. I am running Windows Vista. Please help me.

    Hey ECHIP:

Are you using one of the following burning programs?
1Click DVD Copy, Nero Recode, Intervideo DVD Copy, Roxio DVD Copy, Pinnacle DVD Copy and others. I like 1Click DVD Copy the best, a little expensive but you do pay for convenience.

So far I was able to burn older movies without problems. BUT some newer movies, it only allowed me to burn a very short portion. Like a couple seconds or so. Then it always ask me to insert writable disc.

when this system works, it is great! I am running windows XP and have never had this problem with DVD43 and 1Click until I updated to the latest version of DVD43 (4.4). I get a message with DVD43 that says "this video DVD doesn't match the region code of the DVD device and the device refuses to read encrypted data". Any help on this issue would be much appreciated. Thanks

    A fine piece of software!
Is there a version for Linux?
I like to have this in my NMT (PCH), this is much less hassle than anyDVD!

I was told that if you run it in compatability mode that it would work fine with Vista. I haven't tried it yet because I am waiting for my new machine with Vista on it.

    Anyone tried this

Thanks for the program. It's helped me a lot in setting up my media server. However, the last two new releases I purchased locked up my computer during a copy transfer to my hard drive. I tried your program on an XP machine and a Vista 32 machine and it locks up on both. The DVDs play fine normally. In all cases I show the green smiley face. Is this something new in the newer releases?

    Thx.

I keep getting this error message: DVD43 "The driver is inactive or not installed properly. please reinstall DVD43 to enable dvd driver". I have uninstalled and reinstalled but keep getting the same error. I have Vista 32 bit and have used DVD 43 for years and just now having this problem. Any advice on how to fix it would be great!

I recently had to reinstall Windows XP. I have used DVD43 in the past without incident so I downloaded version 4.40. This morning when I turned on my PC I got a message stating " a serious error had occurred" and the source was caused by DVD43's DVD43LLH.SYS file. I rebooted and everything appears to be o.k. for the moment. Has anyone else had this error message? How concerned should I be? Do the DVD43 folks have a comment or fix? I would appreciate any info. Thanks

Have just downloaded DVD FAB 5 and used the Platinum version (free for 30 days). Worked beautifully on my Vista 64 bit system. I would have preferred DVD 43, but not available in a 64 bit version.
I will have to pay in 30 days for FAB 5 Platinum, but it's worth it. Too bad that DVD43 wouldn't develop a Vista 64 bit version.

    I have a question!
I used dvd43 for a long time now and it works perfectly!
But now I have a Sony laptop which has a Mashusita DVD drive and here it does not work.
The regular balloons come up saying that everything is okay but then the drive says it can not play the DVD due to region incompatability!
    Cab anyone help?
    Thanks,
    Bert
