Geek Superhero, from the makers of the popular GetRight download manager, protects your computer from changes. It warns you about important settings being changed, and lets you immediately fix it back. It protects things like your homepage being altered, warns you of new programs set to start when Windows starts, alerts you if your modem is changed to dial an expensive long distance number, and warns you about many other changes that Trojans, Viruses and Spyware will make to your computer. It has a variety of other tools like a Popup blocker, a Web Bug blocker, and more.

    We get it, you're poor and you like WinPatrol. Hurray. So you rate this poorly because something else is cheaper. Okay. I hereby rate water with a "1" because soda tastes better to me.

    Perhaps for a few people a good tool. The program surface doesn't seem relevant and is for little children (comic strip graphic). I prefer WINPATROL. WINPATROL was cheaper for students.

    Forgot to add in the new stuff, there is a new twin of Geek Superhero: DesktopArmor.com It's exactly the functionality, but without the comic book looks and name. Since the different interface was one of the main complaints, hopefully that will make many people happy!

    Inside of a fun, albiet corney interface, this product is a powerhouse like no other. After you go into options, and tone down the super hero stuff, you are treated to a truely great product.

    It doesn't have EVERY feature I want, but a large portion of the security issues I need blocked, are supported, and here. Really, this is a far far deeper product than WinPatrol, i'm not sure how you can compare them.

    All this product needs, is a few feature ideas from PrevX, and it would be the premier security application on the market.

    The surface is really silly. I use personally the software WINPATROL (www.winpatrol.com). It's very cheap, logical surface and the autor make super prices for students and pupils :-)))
