Publisher's Description

Hard Drive Inspector is a powerful, convenient and effective program based on the S.M.A.R.T. technology, which allows controlling the state of your hard disk drives. Most computer users argue that information stored on their computer is the most valuable element of the computer system. With the help of the S.M.A.R.T. System, this program allows you to predict a possible failure of the HDD before this occurs. As the access to electronic information becomes more and more vital in business and at home, it allows exceeding the traditional limits of HDDs reliability, thus extending the level of valuable user data protection.

Our two SCSI drives not show the SMART functions correctly (ADAPTEC 29160).
The accustic management create a programm system crash, if we want change parameters.

A lot of SCSI HDDs don't work correct with it.
The next is, that i is not really necessarily to spend money for this, because a standard function like this was includet by the bundled software from my HDD (IBM,Hitachi).
Or you can use Harddrive monitor (freeware).

Hey,

lol, you're maybe right, imnra.

But the price here is wrong, it's "only" 29,95$.

Maybe still a little high, but really better than the price noted here.. ^^

I think 19,99$ would be the best price/efficiency..

best regards,

Does not work in my system, reports error "HD Inspector couldn´t detect hard drive on your system."
The system is a Dell 9150 with one SATA disk.
HD Tune 2.52 does not work either.
However, DiskChekup, freeware, does show the SMART parameters.

"HD Tune ... does more then most shareware out there including Hard Drive Inspector."

Nice fantasy, but let's get real, shall we? Can HD Tune automatically recheck SMART info, for example, every 30 minutes? No. Can HD Tune check SMART status and exit automatically? No. Can HD Tune perform an action when a TEC event takes place? No. Can HD Tune perform an action when a hard drive temp goes beyond a user-defined value? No. Can HD Tune be set to shut down the computer if any of the foregoing occurs? No. Can HD Tune send an email message, run a program, or even put up a message box, for an alert? No. I could go on, but I'm sick of typing ... just as I'm sick of people so blinded by the nicety of getting something for nothing that they make fantastical claims.

@Blackhole do you know that this is not a warez site ?!? You should be banned for saying something like this, we judge programs here based on cost to features and quality ratio, this is shareware and saying get yourself a crack is just immature and now you look like 12 year old kiddie.

There is powerful program, thats also free and small - HD Tune, it does more then most shareware out there including Hard Drive Inspector. http://fileforum.betanew...il/HD_Tune/1141220325/1
