I have tried xnview, acdsee an number of others and found this irfanview most suitable for viewing any kind of image, I can't see any problem with it after using it for many years on a daily basis, it did not support unicode some time ago but now it does, just perfect program as far as I am concerned. Thanks to the developer!

I have used Irfanview for many years now. It has always been a very good program. I do not understand "Rhino's" assertion "However the tactic of installing a toolbar with no warning in order to earn money from google is outrageous." The third page in the installation sequence is devoted solely to the google toolbar. If you do not want it installed you simply uncheck the box that is clearly labeled to indicate your disire to install or not install the toolbar. If you do install it and decide later you do not want it you can easily either disable it in the "View" tab, or you can uninstall it completely with little effort.
Irfanview has a small footprint, uses little resources and has many more functions than programs costing $50 to $100 dollars. Oh and it is FREE!
I cannot think of any thing bad about this Program.

@rhinohide
Maybe the warning screen was too big for you? The one where it asks you on a separate page with a lengthy explanation if you want to install the Google Toolbar?
