    • Windows Installer no longer fails silently when the installer tries to update a file that is protected by the Windows File Protection feature.

    replaces INSTMSI.EXE, nothing earthshattering new. I just works on XP sp2, fixes a few minor issues.

    This was released in Sep. 2001. I don't know why it's just now getting posted here, but it is just the ANSI (Windows 9X) version. The Unicode (Windows NT/2000) version is at: http://www.microsoft.com...ase.asp?ReleaseID=32832
