Nag ware.

Every time on start up it nags you to buy the paid version. I don't use nag ware as a matter of principle. Either make the product free, without nag, or go commercial. There are better ways to promote your paid upgrade without completely annoying and irritating the users of your free product.

At first had a little bit of trouble using it, but once I got the hang of it works fine. It has been very helpful changing vodcast episodes of my college classes from avi to mp4.

I have been using the Videora iPod Convertor. Its got tons of options to tweak the output and is incredibly fast. You can input any video format, WMV, DivX, AVI, MOV, etc. Get it from http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/

One note: Use only the MPEG-4 profiles, the H.264 profiles aren't supported by the iPod (Video). Both use the H.264 codecs, only the container is different.

Did not work at all for me. The very first video I tried crashed the program. Nothing after that would convert at all.

The interface is simple - Specifiy the input file and output file name and hit the button. Can only browse for the input file. You'll have to manually type or cut and paste the path you want. Also, if you don't sepciy MP4 as the out file extension, the program seems to hang or crash.

I don't mind that it's simple, it's just that it doesn't work.

I - like others - find it frustrating that I can't find a decent freeware program to do video conversion for the iPod.

This sucks! Every single program that promises easy DVD to Ipod conversion so far has sucked, and this is no exception! This is by far the hardest to manage program, and it never works. Not with HD .mp4 files and not with .vob files or DVD's.

I guess the best free programs are to use virtualdub or megui.

Nothing promising easy free conversion compares to Nero Recode at all yet!
