Nullsoft SHOUTcast Server will accept connections via SHOUTcast DSP Plug-in in order to have a SOURCE Stream to broadcast. Once a stream has begun, the server will only accept connections from other copies of Winamp in order to broadcast that source stream to each listener. In effect, having a micro-broadcast system to allow people to be able to broadcast any content in any of the formats that Winamp supports. Through the use of specialized broadcasting plug-ins, audio from a microphone as well as any device attached to the Line-In port on the broadcasters soundcard can be streamed via SHOUTcast Server.

I've used SHOUTCast for years now and wouldn't even dare to think of using another program to broadcast radio stations with.

i use a older version (win32 v1.9.2 ) with winamp 5 pro with no problem. this is a awesome must have for all winamp music lovers with high speed internet. this is a good stable program and i use it all the time, i would if possable like more input on the shoutcast d.n.a.s. status screen maybe to change the colors, add my own logo and a radio feedback (chatbox).
i have used jetcast and they offer a chatroom but this maybe alittle to much.

Reviewing 1.6.0 RC2 (May 18, 2000)
sweeet... I've always loved shoutcast as a great way of serving up audio. On demand access is even better. All we need now is more clients that can connect to a shoutcast server. What clients besides Winamp can use it? (just as a listener, not a dj)
