PurgeIE addresses the two major concerns that consumers express about cookies—privacy and management & control. This versatile program allows you either to manage your cookies and cache files in a logical manner or for complete privacy, to eliminate them altogether, complete with all references, tracks, trails and strays. It allows you to protect the cookies that control such functions as online-vendor accounting files and that enhance your browsing on the Internet. You don’t have to reboot your computer or shut down Windows. Once the easy initial set-up is accomplished, all you have to do is click the icon on your desktop at any time and your cookie worries are over.

    Does it's job and does it well. So well, that I purchased their Pro version for secure-wipe capabilities. I also got their version of PurgeFox which cleans all traces of Firefox.

    PurgeIE is the only program (that I know of) to actually remove the extraneous and potentially revealing inofrmation from IE's Index.dat files. Many other programs will erase them, requiring a reboot. It's very well done, IMHO. For kicks, try this program and the check out an Index.dat file with a text editor to see what's NOT there!
