SpoofStick is a simple browser extension that helps users detect spoofed (fake) websites. A spoofed website is typically made to look like a well known, branded site (like ebay.com or citibank.com) with a slightly different or confusing URL. The attacker then tries to trick people into going to the spoofed site by sending out fake email messages or posting links in public places - hoping that some percentage of users won't notice the incorrect URL and give away important information. This practice is sometimes known as “phishing".

Reviewing 1.02 (Sep 15, 2005)
Nice little utility for MSIE, helps in todays spoof related emails and redirects, these types of emails come more and more frequently and for the insecure or unknowing customer they may be subjected enough to click and BURN, by entering critical personal information on a false/fake website designed for just that Identity Theft. I knonw from all websites I have joined according to their own privacy statements that if I get a email stating suspension from accounts or verify account that I should go to the said Company as usual and login as usual, NOT BY CLICKING A URL IN A EMAIL TO GET TO THEIR WEBSITE.
So I give this a 4 for effort and desire to help.
PS - Too bad the Firefox Extension will not work in the latest 1.5 Beta 1
