TEXTML Server is a Native XML Database for the dynamic storing, indexing and retrieving of XML content. TEXTML Server can be seen as a building block for applications that need to handle large amounts of XML information, or indeed for any application which contains loosely structured information that cannot be efficiently handled by traditional relational database systems. In sharp contrast to most XML repositories that decompose the instance file into element content objects and store the markup as metadata in a relational or object-oriented database, TEXTML Server doesn't touch the native XML instance, but rather parses it and builds indexes based on markup.
