Velox is a simple, low resource, easy-to-use browser of today. From the moment you download it you will realise that it doesn't even need to install. It's all packed into a single executable file. It is a fully-functional web browser using the MSIE engine, but unlike most browsers today, starts up in seconds and will run on a system with as little as 64 megabytes of RAM. And, it's portable.

Speaking of which, how many older 'challenged' pc's are running .net v2? None that I recall.
Kudos for creating a single exe which can compete with IE on the pc's which do have .net2 installed.
Almost anything is better than IE which unfortunately is still (why i don't know) required by various softwares that run on winblos.

The speed issue is not a fair comparison with like for like in that the real load times of this (and any MSIE based product) need to include the code that MS preloads at system boot. A more fair comparison would be to use either an FF of (even better) K-Meleon or Seamonkey preloader then with the preload in place compare speeds. As it is merely an MSIE front end not a stand alone browser it, inevitably, suffers from all the woes and bad code associated with IE.

Hey anomoly, thats advertising!
Anyway this is by far the best browser I have ever installed on my 6 yr old child's old WinXP upgraded machine. Runs smoothly, more than I can say for Mozilla Firefox, and started up instantly!

I noticed that some guy wrote a review giving it 1 star and saying that it's not customisable, etc. Well, it is meant to be a quick browser, maybe just for downloading a malware removal tool on a sluggish spyware-infected computer? I'll see if I can ask the author (I'm a friend of his) but, from my point of view, a lot of people with historically challenged computers could use this browser.
