WinPcap is an open source library for packet capture and network analysis for the Win32 platforms. It includes a kernel-level packet filter, a low-level dynamic link library (packet.dll), and a high-level and system-independent library (wpcap.dll, based on libpcap version 0.6.2).

Essential part of W3Banlist, and seems to work quite well. Have some issues with it slowing/stopping all internet access for short periods (usually 10-15 seconds) but otherwise OK.

FYI ethereal was renamed to Wireshark (trademark issues when the original dev quit or something).

Don't let the beta designation fool you-- very robust....BTW new Cain & Abel 3.3 just released utilizes this latest version.
