Just an excellent program!
What I don't like is it's icon. It's blurry and... well, ugly!
But it's only an icon! :-)

WOW! ...did they forget anything? There is full featured software, and then there is FULL FEATURED SOFTWARE!!! LoL
I, like the other guy, prefer the 'Run' dialog (WinKey+R) as it is faster if you know the command(s). But if you don't, or need to access multiple items on your system from one spot, this is your app!
Indeed there needs to be a little work on the interface, but if the GUI doesn't bother you, then I highly recommend this.
P.S. there are links in this software that will take you to places in your OS where you could do some serious damage if you don't know what your doing. Use with caution if you are a neophyte. :)

Dropdead excellent! And the xtort.net website has a lot of great freeware apps and links.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the multi-columned look like in the screenshot. In addition, the process viewer pane does not resize with the window, which is quite annoying. Otherwise, not a bad little piece of software.

I gave this a try and... um, well nouse for me, I still prefer "Run..." :D BUT I am sure it is a great tool for many others! So a 4 from me, -1 for the GUI... there is so many "shortcuts" its hard to navigate ;) But those who use it will probably learn where to find a certain "shortcut" pretty fast. Other than that, it does what its suppose todo ;p

chkdsk doesn't work. perhaps it needs command line arguments?

If Xtort is able to do this same thing with Vista someday, he'll gain hero status. XP SysPad does all the menu drilling and mining for you when you're looking for that "thing" that you don't remember what it's called or where it's found.

Whoa SWEET! Microsoft may be buying these guys out! Simply amazing why MS can't write programs like this into their OS. Works excellent on W2K. Graet work.

I wouldn't comment on XPSysPad if it weren't so useful. Xtort.net has put everything in one handy place with this tool and make sure you visit their website for other great freeware apps.

Alphabetizing both the menus and menu options make XP SysPad easier to navigate, and best of all, it makes even esoteric features of WinXP openly accessible. The Net menu features are quite nice, and I hope to a Gmail link added to it in the next version.
Last thing, if you haven't visited the developer's site at http://xtort.net/ you're missing some cool links and apps.
jungle! reviewed v6.0.0 on Apr 5, 2004
thanks for the feedback, DJKarmaD2! It has been difficult for me to make an application that makes accessing the basic Windows files easier, especially as the typical Windows install creates these files in such an illogical order. In v6.0.0 I have reorganized the menu(s) alphabetically, and for v7.0.0 I am working towards being able to hide/show all of the menu items. As far as getting into adding a lot of user-defined shortcuts, I am undecided, as doing this would make the application into more of a run-of-the-mill app launcher, as opposed to being a Windows system utility that I intended it to be. But, I might add it if there is enough demand for it though, as I think the main purpose of software is to make things easier for us in any case.
DJKarmaD2 reviewed v5.0.6 on Mar 19, 2004
I understand what Xort is trying to accomplish with this app, which seems to change interfaces with every major release. However, I think it would be 100% more useful if the end user could customize the menus and their order. The placement of the programs isn't alphabetical, and seems completely helter-skelter. With this type of arrangement, it's in as much disarray as the placement of the programs in Windows itself.
I've toyed with this app from version 1 but always wind up uninstalling it in the end. :(
I give it a 3 for effort.
