Software - Xilisoft iPad Magic Review
Xilisoft iPad Magic is undoubtedly the best multimedia management software for your geeky yet impressive device. It combines iPad transfer, iPad manager and iPad converter altogether. Hence it’s easy to say that you are going to get the best deal in one software.
iPad Magic has simple yet elegant interface, that means, that you don’t have to juggle and mess around and feel like you’re lost in some high-fi confusing software.
Your devices, iPad (all versions), iPod (all versions) and iPhone (all versions), will be automatically detected by the software and you’ll be ready to transfer and manage your multimedia files at the blink of an eye. iPad Magic doesn’t conflict with iTunes and you’ll be delighted to use both of them in combination, because iTunes is still not capable of supporting all video and audio formats.
iPad Magic supports nearly every possible audio and video formats (not to mention image formats as well) and makes it easy to work with your variety of audio and video data. You don’t need any third party software or codec to let it agree with your YouTube files. It already supports FLV format along with 3GP, 3G2, ASF, AVI, DV, DIF, VOB, M2TS, MTS, M4V, SWF, MKV, DVR-MS, MJPG, CDA, MJPEG, MOD, MPG, MPEG, MPA, DAT, TS, MPV, NSV, MOV, QT, H261, H264, RM, RMVB, WMV, ASF, and XWMV. I suppose that it’s more than enough.
If you work with audio files rather than video then have a look at these audio formats: AAC, AIF, AIFF, AC3, APE, CUE, AU, FLAC, MPA, MP2, MP3, OGG, RA, WAV, WMA, CDA, and M4A. Was I wrong when I said that it supports nearly every format? I seriously don’t think so!
You can also capture snaps of the video that you’re about to convert. This feature is great when you want to capture some pretty moments while you convert your video.
The quality of videos and audios after conversion is very nice but I must tell you that it depends solely on your device and you must mess with the settings a little bit to determine the best possible conversion settings for your device (for both audio and video).
Video depends on bitrate and same goes for audio files. Since you have different amount of data and applications than the next guy, hence you might want to check out your own settings rather than converting your files based on his settings.
I always do this, hit and trial, and trust me, it works like a charm and doesn’t take too much time of mine. All you need to do is pick up a file that’s in good quality but small in size (means it plays for only few minutes) and convert it with different settings. Within no time, you’ll find the best settings and then, you need to apply those settings on other files as well.
However, if you’re in a hurry then you only need to select a preset profile for iPad, iPod or iPhone and files will be converted in no time. You can also set the software to copy files to your device after conversion.
Even then, if a particular video or audio is very special to you and you want it to be in best quality then you might want to work with the file itself. But please do mark one thing here - when you test a file, always work with its clone (not the real file) because it removes the risk of losing the file (I am talking with respect to all conversion softwares).
So there you go, if I had to conclude this review in one line then I would say only one line, ‘Xilisoft iPad Magic is “all you need” to manage your multimedia files the way you want!’
