  1. Review - Microsoft ISA Server 2006 Service Pack 1

    5721.493 (Jul 3, 2008)

Finally - True support for SAN certificates.

  2. Review - Belarc Advisor

    7.2.20.10 (Oct 11, 2007)

Too bad you can't use this program in business environments. That's always been the downfall of this software.

  3. Comment - Skype 5.5 for Windows released, integrates Facebook features

    7.2.20.10 (Jul 30, 2011 - 7:13 PM)

You can disable the Facebook integration.

I've always liked Skype and use it extensively for business. I'm often on it for 4 or 5 hours straight.

  4. Comment - 10 companies Apple could buy right now, with cash

    7.2.20.10 (Jul 29, 2011 - 11:31 PM)

I don't see what value Yahoo would have to Apple. I can marginally see it for Microsoft. And, as others have mentioned, I see Microsoft buying Adobe before Apple. RIM in on the way out. Declining users, declining income, decling staff levels.

I could almost see Netflix. Roll it into iTunes.

Symantec has a much bigger Windows customer base than anything as far as software, so I wouldn't see interest there. Especially with Symantec owning Verisign. Apple already has sections in many, if not most, Best Buy stores. No gain there.

I could see them buying a TV manufacturer and coming out with a branded TV, complete with Apple TV built in.

  5. Comment - Microsoft pays University of Nebraska $250,000 to use Office 365

    7.2.20.10 (Jul 5, 2011 - 9:26 PM)

That's a common practice. MS will net FAR more than $250k. It's like a car dealer throwing in floor mats. Microsoft is merely eating part of the migration cost via consulting (MCS hours) and reduced licensing. Both of those are soft costs.

  6. Comment - Microsoft snags Skype for a hefty $8.5B

    7.2.20.10 (May 10, 2011 - 12:19 PM)

Microsoft has said that it will support non-Microsoft platforms. Hopefully, you'll see be true.

  7. Comment - Microsoft certifications get more expensive

    7.2.20.10 (Apr 27, 2011 - 11:52 PM)

The issues isn't whether YOU can afford to take the test. It's what it costs, as a whole, to create a test and have a testing provider proctor the exam to test takers. If the cost to provide a test costs more money that what it brings in, is that fair to the provider?
