  1. Review - Asmw PC-Optimizer Pro

    7.5 (Mar 27, 2012)

Crapware, like most of these so called "optimizers.

Windows doesn't need this garbage, just keep it free of malware and it will run fine.

  2. Review - Mozilla Firefox (v7) for Windows

    7.0 Beta 1 (Aug 20, 2011)

I have used Firefox since it was called Phoenix, but it's time has come and gone. The people in charge at Mozilla have become desperate trying to get this aging program caught up with other modern browsers, and they aren't even coming close.

The rapid releases and throwing sensible version numbers out the window, the continued memory and stability problems and the horrible excuse for an interface they brought out in 4.0 are just a few of the issues.

I gave Chrome another shot last week and after a few days of tinkering with it and installing the extensions I want I said farewell to Firefox and removed it from my system.

  3. Review - QuickTime for Windows

    7.70.80.34 (Aug 4, 2011)

The only thing keeping this junk alive is iTunes.

  4. Review - Firefox Plumber

    0.0.1.12 (Jun 4, 2011)

What is this garbage? This reminds me of those crap programs from the Windows 95 era that claimed to defragment your memory or other such nonsense. Keep this junk off Betanews please.

  5. Review - Microsoft IntelliPoint (32-bit)

    8.15.406.0 (Jun 1, 2011)

Should be called Intellipointless, because 99% of users have absolutely no need for this software. You just plug your mouse in and it will work fine, I promise.

  6. Comment - What hath Mac wrought? A remembrance after a quarter-century

    8.15.406.0 (Feb 1, 2009 - 8:33 PM)

Apple did not steal anything; they paid Xerox in millions of dollars worth of stock options and Xerox invited them to come and see the Alto. Apple used the ideas with their permission and designed everything for the Lisa and Macintosh from scratch, nothing was stolen.

  7. Comment - Senate votes to delay DTV transition, House may be next

    8.15.406.0 (Jan 26, 2009 - 10:31 PM)

People have had years to prepare for this. If they aren't ready by now another few months is not going to make any difference. They could delay it until 2020 and people still would not be ready. Why? Because people procrastinate. Do the switch now though and I guarantee the people who lose their signal will get their fat rear ends off the couch and get a box that very day.

After the endless dire warnings about February 12 this is just going to confuse people. They've been going on about it like the world is coming to an end on that day; now they are wanting to delay it for another four months? "February 12 is the deadline! Psyche! Just kidding, it's June now." Perhaps they should read the story of the boy who cried wolf. In any case I am SICK of hearing about it. Please don't tell me we have to put up with this crap until June.

  8. Comment - Senate considers delaying DTV transition until June

    8.15.406.0 (Jan 17, 2009 - 5:06 AM)

Delaying it any more would be stupid. Just do it and get it over with, if someone hasn't heard about it by now they must be living in a cave.

What happened to Betanews by the way, jeez. This new design sucks horribly.

  9. Comment - Windows XP pauses again in its shuffle out the door

    8.15.406.0 (Dec 24, 2008 - 3:46 PM)

There's nothing wrong with Vista, but to say XP is "bad rubbish" or the people that use it are "mornic followers" just proves that you are a total idiot FANBOY who feels personally insulted because someone doesn't use the same (insert anything here) as you. Grow up and quit acting stupid. It's just an operating system.

  10. Comment - Windows XP pauses again in its shuffle out the door

    8.15.406.0 (Dec 23, 2008 - 4:50 PM)

"We don't know. It isn't released nor even alpha. "

What? There have been many releases of Windows 7 already and Beta 1 is already finished and will be available next month.

"makes UAC easier to use, "
So a "skin" change. You are changing the appearance of a core feature, not the actual functionality.

Uh no, it is indeed changing the functionality. I mean you've already admitted you had no idea it was even being tested yet, so you really know nothing at all about it. How can you make such claims?
