0.2.149.29 Beta (Sep 11, 2008)
I welcome competition into the scene, but sucks as a developer unless they follow W3C standards. IE8 is a step backwards; however, I'm not convinced Chrome is a step forward. I appreciate the minimalist approach to browsing which is why Firefox took over the Mozilla suite (a'la Netscape Communicator prior to that), but it has a lot of ground to gain before it comes close to the well-polished Opera or extensible Firefox. It is clearly superior to IE, but, honestly, was that really hard to do?
1.0 (Dec 5, 2006)
I will be keeping my eye on future releases, but for now I will still use (pre-Shareware) version of TrayPlayer but since it hasn't been updated in over a year I'm look'n. I like toolbar style players. Winamp has a plug, but winamp in general is becoming bloat (even with modern skins not installed). I nearly converted to this player; however, I like global hotkeys to include the winkey as an allowed keystroke combo which is currently doesn't support.
2.0 Alpha 3 (May 30, 2006)
Doesn't feel fresh for a major version release and still plagued with the unnatural feeling that items were an after thought (tabbed interface). Loading FireFox is still a nightmare. I'm still sticking with Opera as the #1 browser. The only thing FireFox has going for it is the extentions, but I can do everything I need for a browser in Opera right out of the box.
1.01a (May 9, 2005)
I have used many players out there and none so far have pulled me away from Winamp.... until now. I'm totally impressed and look forward to every future release! I have used Winamp with multiple iterations of the deskband for years. With many minimalist players out there, this is the slickest - keep up the good work!
Beta 2 (Nov 3, 2003)
I'm pretty pleased with it so far, some of the Winamp 2.x plugins work with this release. I can use the Winamp Toolbar again on the taskbar!! Yippie!!
Beta 2 (Sep 24, 2010 - 2:15 PM)
Hmm... is that the oompa loompa song I hear followed by rocketing my lounge chair over the city. Man, what a remote, and what a button!!
Beta 2 (Apr 10, 2009 - 1:19 PM)
Going with "WE are Linux" is catchy and, yet, borgish. Since the Linux folks are rebellious and defy the masses, I'm surprised they didn't go with "I am neither".

Ask Artemy Lebedev: How does Apple's dynamic keyboard patent affect the release and future of the Optimus Keyboard?
Beta 2 (Jun 24, 2005 - 12:10 PM)
Just boycott all IBM products, Big Blue is a trend setter for the worse, not a following "a growing trend by tech firms" While it may be tempting to get the cheap labor, I would offer pay cuts as a option instead of job cuts. You take jobs away from Americans you lose more money to buy the very products IBM is making for Americans (mostly). Sounds like a downward spiral to me. Make products cheaper so people can afford them since more people lost their jobs then you need to make the products cheaper so people can afford them since more people lost their jobs then you need to mak... you get the point, apparently Big Blue does not.
Beta 2 (Apr 27, 2005 - 12:25 PM)
I love the features Nokia offers in their phones. I currently have a 6225. The only beef I have is the preference of a flip phone since most flip phones have larger screens, feel more conforming when held, and the screen is better protected.
