Shockwave works pretty well. It wouldn't be my first choice for creating on-line content but as a client it works and it doesn't bork my machine. Uninstalls clean too. Not bad.

The resident scanner is a resource hog, it is true. However, to be effecient it has to be. All resident anti-virus/anti-spyware scanners are the same that way. If you can discipline yourself to manually scan each file you download and use Firefox 3.0 RC2 you can disable the resident anti-virus scanner and link checker and you'll get your resources back.

Adblock Plus, as great as it is, has two downsides. Firstly, when friends are talking about some annoying ad on such and such a site you don't know what they're talking about and you feel a little left out. Secondly, when you're visiting friends or relatives and you go to check your web mail you get a short trip through hell. No, the goggles do not help.

The most wonderful thing about this app is its ability to load music onto a wide range of MP3 players without having to use such ghastly proprietary programs as iTunes, Windows Media player 11 or Sonic Stage even in Windows 2000. As a player it's not that great but there are lots of alternatives for that function.

The sketchy multisession support isn't a deal breaker for me. All to often I have found that, when attempting to add a new session weeks or months later, either a new session can't be written or writing a new session ruins the entire disc. Discs are cheap these days and spending 20 to 50 cents for a new compilation isn't going to break ones budget. Back when a CD-R cost five bucks a disc taking a chance with multisession was, at times, worth it but not any more I think. ImgBurn still needs some work but, overall, I'm quite satisfied with it.
