  1. Review - Soluto

    1.3.441 Beta (Feb 5, 2012)

Rubbish - complete 'charah'. Had to use the old fashioned way(s) to fix my booting. This gives Israeli programmers a bad name.

  2. Review - NirLauncher

    1.11.39 (Jan 4, 2012)

The best utilities in the 'net without exception from a very talented and responsive chap.

  3. Review - USBDeview

    1.97 (Dec 28, 2011)

The NirSoft utils are brilliant without exception and this one is a life saver. It allows one to see every device that is or was connected to a given PC (or OS or multibooters, natch). The only util one needs to sort out USB issues.

  4. Review - Mozilla Firefox (v9) for Windows

    9.0.1 (Dec 22, 2011)

Reasons for using Firefox, in no particular order:-
    1) Extensions
    2) Bookmark sidebar so bookmarks always visible (unlike Chromium - I don't use Google-branded release)
    3) I do not have to click mouse to activate the bookmarks sidebar or main window (like with IE)

  5. Review - Image for Windows

    2.66 (Sep 21, 2011)

The best there is and tech support is outstanding, fast and prompt.

  6. Comment - Opera Next clears clutter from the browser UI

    2.66 (Jun 23, 2011 - 6:04 AM)

The problem with the version number changes in Firefox is that it breaks extensions...and it *is* version number changes and not anything else. It is a major brake to upgrading.

  7. Comment - Internet Explorer 9 takes back the web -- 2.35M downloads during first 24 hours

    2.66 (Mar 17, 2011 - 8:38 AM)

Whilst I hae installed IE9 where I can (never know what upgrades MS has snuck in there) I will not be using it as my main browser; due to a single usability issue that drives me NUTS.

In Firefox, I do not have to click on my bookmarks in order to be able to scroll them, in IE I do. In FF the activity follows the mouse cursor.

That is why I mainly use Firefox, the extensions are just the icing on the cake.

  8. Comment - Chrome 9 dev build released ahead of Chrome 8 beta

    2.66 (Nov 6, 2010 - 4:46 AM)

Used PROPERLY, they can tell one roughly what is going on.

  9. Comment - Chrome 9 dev build released ahead of Chrome 8 beta

    2.66 (Nov 6, 2010 - 4:45 AM)

It is very illogical indeed. However, the vanilla dev chrome browser does the same. TBH, I cannot see what Google adds to the project.

  10. Comment - Firefox 4 delayed: Is it ready for prime time?

    2.66 (Nov 3, 2010 - 8:57 AM)

Just wish they'd fix v3 first. On every PC I have it installed on (6) it stalls/freezes are various times. Some of the installed don't have any extensions.
