adaminferior: try putting your clock forward a year - windows update will stop working. Iv tried it. Clock set to current time, there is currently one update for windows and one driver update for my computer. Put the clock forward a year there are 0 driver updates, and the windows option is grayed out! (I didnt try this before installing SP1 so I assume this is a "feature" of SP1). - and this was WITH a "recovered" key :) (delete the review by me below mods not this one!)
9.0 Beta Build 2799 (Sep 5, 2002)
very nice. huge HUGE improvement over WMP8. Privacy questions were a nice surprise at the end of the setup - nice clear options which it makes you aware of unlike winamp3. Interface seems to have made a huge leap forward. Now if they would just supply a few more pleasant skins - or allow people to create them easily, it'd seriously rival winamp3.
3.0 Final (Build #488) (Aug 9, 2002)
ok played with it a bit more now. and err... this so shouldnt be final! the "send to playlist" option in media library is soooo b0rked! it keeps openning new play list windows every time, each one only showing the playlist just created not other existing playlists. Also think that winamp2 sounds better when using the mad decoder. Winamp3 is in the fairly unique situation of (contrary to what winamp people want you to think) doing FAR LESS than winamp2 because of the huge amount of winamp2 plugins out there. If you want an all in one package that sounds ok and has reasonably features "out of the box" then get winamp3. If you want a really powerful media player that does exactly what you want stick with winamp2 with whatever plugins you need. **UPDATED AGAIN!** Ok more disappointments... downloading .wal files (skins) doesnt work on my pc, they download and then just disappear! After finally getting some skins installed by doing save as in IE it seems that only the main window has alpha shading? maybe its just the skins I tried, but it thats true then thats a MAJOR disappointment with the skin engine. Oh and I see they found a way to stop people using winamp2! move all the winamp2 stuff off of the main website!! oooo check out how many components there are available for winamp3 on winamp.com so far! err 1. hmm.
3.2.5 Pre-Release 1 (Jul 24, 2002)
Havent tried this version - but as its common on here to review programs in general, I'll just say that the previous version I HAVE tried of girder are AWESOME.
3.0 (Mar 26, 2001)
hmm but the problem is there are now too many of these programs, so less people using the same encryption, so less songs to choose from.

"Microsoft's IM clients will be migrated to drive Live Meeting services."
and then....
"NetMeeting has shipped as free component of Windows, but Live Meeting will not carry on the torch"
hows that gonna work then?

Sorry but I really dont get how this works. Your main point seems to be "the message never leaves the spamers computer" and that for it to work you need the MX records pointing to your server. but considering most spammers are continually changing the format of their messages, especially subject lines and also often post from either a dynamic ip or some form of proxy - I still fail to see how your service can claim such high success rate when spammers are constantly changing everything identifiable about their posts? Unless Im missing something, it appears you are talking up a service which suffers from all the usual problems of all existing spam products.

Two days later a job ad at microsoft appears that has as one of its responsibilities :
"Demolish competition by knowing everything they do and thwarting their every move in the relevant spaces"

yeah drive letters really need to go, although I guess that would generate big compatibility issues. They are already half way there with the logical disk management and mount points stuff that was in w2k. I guess they would have to use unc paths to access stuff then.
