  3. Review - Ubuntu

    8.04 LTS (Hardy Heron) (Apr 25, 2008)

I don't like it. I prefer more Archlinux. Archlinux is an indepedently developed system built from scratch. Archlinux is presented as a much more minimalist design from the installation onward, relying on the user to customize it to their own specific needs. In general, developers and tinkerers will probably like Arch better than Ubuntu, though many Archlinux users claim to have started on Ubuntu and eventually migrated to Arch.

  4. Comment - Anonymous posts cops' personal data, puts their lives in danger

    8.04 LTS (Hardy Heron) (Aug 18, 2011 - 10:41 AM)

First: The World we know turn in a big mess. Financial Crises, High Jobless rates, Government who try to control everything. "Anonymous" I don't care about them. They are only there to scare people. Nothing more. Behind all this is a big machine. Powered by money.

Take a closer look at the stock market. There gurus going to die day after day. Old mens in there 80+ with billion of dollars to play with. Options and Futures this are the real terrorist. This people hurting you, you scare about them losing your job and money.

Does Anon hurting you? No they don't hurt you. Everything where we stand for will disappear anyway.

Free Internet? With the changes to the UMTS/HSPA/LTE the providers get the power to tell you what you will do and how much you have to pay for it. In near the future there will be no more sales of a PC or a Laptop. Internet access will be over cellphone, tablets or Digital TV.

  6. Comment - Will you buy an Apple iPhone 4?

    8.04 LTS (Hardy Heron) (Jun 16, 2010 - 7:20 PM)

NEVER, I am thinking to get me a NOKIA N8! First of all, the Nokia screen, Amoled ...... you see something in the sunlight. More then on a iPhone4. Next the camera, 12MP wow .... quality made by Zeiss, not like Apples No Name Camera made in China. But more important are for me I like unlocked and provider free devises. I don't like to pay US $1000, for a US $150 piece of low tech.
Does the Apple iPhone4 provide a free world wide free navigation? NO
Does the Apple iPhone4 comes with Bluetooth 3.0? No Apple still use the old 2.0
Does the Apple iPhone4 comes with USB On-the-go support? NO, you can't easy dock on your USB Port a portable Hard Drive or USB Stick to the iPhone4.
    Let us compare HSDPA!
    Apple Iphone4 comes with HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 and 7.2 Mbps
and now the Nokia N8 it comes with HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 2100 /1900 and 10.2 Mbps. But the best thing about the Nokia N8 are for the people in the US. You can us the Nokia N8 on all GSM Provider, T-Mobile or ATT.

  7. Comment - Is Apple afraid of Google?

    8.04 LTS (Hardy Heron) (Mar 5, 2010 - 2:51 PM)

Apple's calculation want work out. Apple was thinking they will be stronger, but look at them. There market share is still not growing. Why, because of Google with Chrome and Android. Google take Millions of new customers away from Apple. Customers some how Apple needed and calculated on. Apples App store is also now on his limit. Yes 10 million downloads a day, OK but it is still not growing anymore. The App store from Nokia - Ovi is growing 100% per month and get customers from 180 Countries. At the moment 2 Million downloads a day. Problem Nokia, they can build fast enough all the server parks they need.
Back to Google, over the last years Google building world wide server parks. Google was building first a lot of capacity for there stuff and then release then. People was asking before, what is going to do with all this servers. Now we all see and know!

Apples most important market is the US market. With the wide spread of android devises for all carriers Verizon Wireless, AT&T, T-Mobile plus MetroPCs, Sprint and another's, Google take all disappointed Apple customers from AT&T away to Verizon Wireless. Apples sales is now on there limit, but Android and Symbian are growing fast. To fast in the mind from Apple.

Apples Appstore, it is a big mess now. To many applications and to many from the same kind. It's a good move from Apple kick out around 5000 applications, but are the developers are happy? I hear about that deviscape have 10 times more downloads from Nokia Users then Apple users. With the Android release from deviscape they count more then doubles on downloads and it is fast growing. Developers need to make some income. With the fast growing Android and the already strong Symbian, there are now opportunities for developers to make money with Android Apps Store and the Ovi Store.

Apple and Partnership. Is there something new coming out? Apple vs. Nokia is now on hold and pause. In the same time Apple take on HTC, they Major Android supplier. Android got kick out from the Linux Kernel 2.6.33, Nokia team up with Intel (Maemo+Moblin=Meego) both are strong members and supporters from the Linux foundation.

It's nice to watch the sharks in the pool.

  8. Comment - Will the smartphone replace the PC in three years?

    8.04 LTS (Hardy Heron) (Mar 4, 2010 - 3:00 PM)

Yes, they will. In 3 years maybe but in the future sure. I am using Nokia's E Series, and for now, I don't carry a laptop anymore.
