Alpha (03/29/02) (Mar 31, 2002)
I think it's fair to inform people that Sonique 2 was stalled by Lycos P.R. for over 6 months or so, no updates whatsoever(Big company clearing, fired employees) thus it's normal that it's still in alpha stage. There was also a learning curve for the new dev team considering even with footnotes on code, learning someone else's program (Especially something this vast) is long, arduous work. The sound engine is beautiful but that's a given, considering the Alpha stage for development, I'm expecting good things for this particular software. Now if they could only get the features done, fix the crashbugs and little quirks, it would be a great software to use...
0.80 Alpha 4 (Feb 17, 2002)
Cool-Gui, ConquerCam doesn't stream, it just does still captures at 1 second intervals... How can you even compare the two is beyond me. :P Anyways, ConquerCam would be better if it streamed... So WebcamXP stays my personal favorite... Other than teveo, but that's really... Proprietary.
0.9.1 Beta (Nov 21, 2001)
Great little utility, does add transparency to ANY window... It's nice, but be forewarned! Transparency drains ressources! But that's a given. :P
2.0 Beta 1 (Jul 3, 2001)
Talisman's been around for a while and is an underrated shell replacement tool... It's highly stable and versatile, although some solutions could be considered better (NextSTART + Explorer in ease of use, Litestep in configurability) but it still deserves honorable mentions.
2.0 Beta 1 (Feb 14, 2002 - 3:52 PM)
I heart trillian.
2.0 Beta 1 (Aug 21, 2001 - 10:27 AM)
How can one honestly doubt an OS which is built on an NT infrastructure from being "safe" by comparison to Hotmail? Hotmail has been "unsafe" for ages and noone I know uses it for mission critical E-Mails... Windows XP will have security flaws, of course. It's an OS like any other. If there's a problem, it WILL be fixed... That's usually how it works.
2.0 Beta 1 (Aug 18, 2001 - 2:12 PM)
Palm is a failing company? Wow! I didn't know!
Be wasn't "failing" either, but it wasn't renowned...
2.0 Beta 1 (Aug 15, 2001 - 8:58 PM)
The problem doesn't affect most people since not everyone has the same motherboard chipset... The issue resides in PCI latency and poor driver programming... If Creative had a decent programming team behind them, it might do them some good and win over some people who started looking for other solutions
2.0 Beta 1 (Aug 8, 2001 - 1:16 AM)
Even if some people might whine that it's not, it is... I mean, what Windows OS was released 100% working? None. Then again, what program has? Not everyone can predict how millions of lines of code might interact with eachother, people! And it's NOT easy to debug it all... But Windows XP is solid, works marvelously and deserves its time in the spotlight. Forget the product activation nonsense, forget the whole debate about raw sockets, just use the OS because it makes you feel good. heh.
