    You can write too programs on perl
    C++,Asm,Pascal for the JavaVM so we have tons of
    programming languages for this but why bother
    if you want JavaVm write in Java
    I would love MS to extend to the linux
    with Visual Studio.Netz this way
    you will have OfficeXP Linux edition
    this is the Microsoft money cow they milk
    and if they make it to work
    on OS-X wich is FreeBsd then
    is peace of cake to
    build it for Linux
    Remember that IE is working on
    Mac-Os
    And the only thing that keep Apple alive
    is that this way MS have a liitle
    bit of competition (also they have some stoks there)
    and inovation department
    look at XP interface it looks like OS-X
    somehow ...the same vectorial like GDI
    and themes and some blue things (like Aqua color)
    In the future they will do it on linux also
    coze they will sell services
    this is the big move of the day
    and XML,AND SOAP and UDDI are easier
    to work with coze they are standards dude
    and by the way the have stoks in Corel too
    wich is doing Corel Linux
    and by the way they copy the

    (don't remember the site name ...)
    and yes if you go
    to the research.microsoft.com
    they have some stuff there(server or something)
    that is GPL ;)

    I think this is the way of Microsoft
    they take something good (Java)and make it
    MSJava with extensions that works only on MS platform
    C# +new VirtualMachine Net is the response and
    implemetation of the java machine like
    + copying the delphi component model
    Don't forget that the parent of C# is
    coCreator of Delphi revolution

    and yes is nothing new in Visual Studio
    The idee with Virtual Machine is from Java guys
    But i tell the code made with VisualStudio is
    small coze they use components (frameworks)
    deployed with future upades
    I compiled a simple form with an
    button(vb) and the code was a smallnumber of kilos!!
    yes this is good but if
    you run the program then the
    memory eaten by Virtal Machine
    and Garbage Colector is about 20Megs+
    but for today memory prices that's nothing
    Hope there will be an C# version on Linux
    coze is a cool language
    cleaner than Java and a combination
    of C++ Delphi and Java (smels good)
    About Visual Stdio requiments they are high
    i have machine with only 128megs and
    i cry ..;(
    And Yes delphi has the same XML stuff on both
    linux (Kylix edition ) and Windozze (delphi6)
    so nothing new
    and yes this XML is MS-Xml don't use it...
    kiding ;)
    About ASP ...i have the same toolz on linux
    you have ASP perl modules and you can
    do every thing with perl ,php,python,parot...
    on linux no restrictions no dll hell
    coze we have symlinks
