  1. Review - avast! Free Antivirus

    5.1.677 (Dec 7, 2010)

    @dotnetnightmare
    There is really no need into disabling anything. I'm running avast! on Aspire One and works just fine. I do have a Seagate Momentus 7200.4 drive which is really fast but still, CPU is the same Atom N270 as found in all older netbooks.

  2. Review - VirtualBox

    2.0.2 (Sep 14, 2008)

    It's an excellent program and a very fast one too. But i just can't stand the fact i can't drag and drop files/programs in and out of the VM just by dragging them between windows. MS VirtualPC 2007 does that and it's far better. There is file sharing option but i never could get it working so it's no use to me. I have to upload files somewhere on host system, open up VM, download that and run in VM. Lame, slow and limited.

  3. Review - ThreatFire

    1.2.0.39 (Nov 1, 2006)

    @ZenWarrior
    I hope you do realize that you've been throwing adware/spyware at it. Behavior analyzers are mainly focused on worms, trojans and (partially) viruses. Adware and stuff is just an extra goodie but you can't really expect a behavior analyzer to do the job of dedicated signature anti-spyware or antivirus?
    Besides, there is no signature updater mechanism so it takes long for them to update it as it only comes with the program update itself.

    As of the program itself, it has a great potential. Some false positives and compatibility problems here and there but in general it's easy to use and does the job very well. And it's free.
    4/5 for now but i'm sure i'll be soon able to give them 5/5. We just got their team to Wilders Security and i've been in contact with them for quiet some time now. Just track this tool, it's worth it.

  4. Review - DirectX for Windows

    Well it's still saying that i'm up to date even though i'm not.

  5. Review - Microsoft Private Folder

    1.0 (Jul 15, 2006)

    It does what it's suppose to do. Simple to use and very straight-forward. 5/5 on this one. Nice job MS, would certanly like to see more of such handy tools.

  6. Comment - Larry Page has got some kind of balls to buy Motorola Mobility

    1.0 (Aug 15, 2011 - 2:19 PM)

    This just means that next Google phone will be from Motorola and not Samsung or any other...

  7. Comment - I want my Windows Update Rollup!

    1.0 (Aug 12, 2011 - 10:27 AM)

    Wow, some ppl are stupid. If WinXP is not the latest greates, both Vista and Win7 are based on its core. My netbook is not even 2 years old so it can be considered as a new system, but because of compatibility issues with wireless part, i can't use Win7 even if i'd want to. We also use WinXP on our corporate workstations where things move considerably slower. So yeah, SP4 would make a lot of sense.

  8. Comment - Samsung's Bada outsells Windows Phone in Q2

    1.0 (Aug 11, 2011 - 1:10 PM)

    Bada is not bad, though it has its quirks. I'm expecting much more when Bada 2.0 arrives. Current Bada sort of feels like first editions of Android. The reason why Bada got so popular is the price performance of the phones that carry it. Original Wave offered a lot of feature sonly found on highest end phones of that time. Full aluminium case, big scratch resistant Gorilla Glass screen that's using excellent SuperAMOLED, 5Mpix auto-focus camera with LED flash and 720p video recording.
    All this stuff was mostly available in phones for 500-600 EUR. I bought a brand new Wave for 299 EUR. And it had all this. Just insane. And if you sell many such devices, you'll also sell many copies of Bada OS.

  9. Comment - We want your Windows XP memories

    I'm still using WinXP on netbook. Works the best.

  10. Comment - Google is right to demand people use real names

    1.0 (Jul 25, 2011 - 12:25 PM)

    Ok, so i've used a Google+ inviite out of curiosity just to find out i don't like it. And now i'm stuck with Google+ even though i don't really need it. Is there a way to turn off Google+ just like we could turn off Google Buzz?
